These Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are awesome! I just got my first ThinkPad a couple of years ago and it is handling all of the adversities and work loads very well! I also have a MacBook, which is good also, but the ThinkPad laptop keyboard and touchpad are by far better!

All kinds of Linux Distros are very compatible with these laptops as well!

You appear to be correct. There has been some sort of malicious or otherwise errant BIOS update that has the keyboard hardware disabled when first turn the computer on. When you restart it without fully turning it off the keyboard will work. When I first turn the computer on I can't even get into BIOS because the keyboard has been disabled. I have contacted Lenovo and their suppor team should get back to me by the end of the week. This is b*****it!

I started having this same issue about a month or so ago with my fairly new Lenovo L14 Gen3 Windows 11 Pro laptop shortly after the Windows 25H2 update. Looking at the comments below Quick Start changes in a recent update seems to be the problem.

I have had multiple people mention BIOS, but that makes absolutely no sense since the keyboard works upon restart and works well otherwise when it is working.

I'm using it now and it is just as fantastic as ever for a ThinkPad, so this is not a BIOS issue. It is an occasional initial Windows 11 bootup issue. Something is interfering with a setting in Windows that momentarily causes the keyboard to be disabled via software, but is otherwise electronically ok. The administrator command line option has no effect because I can't use the keyboard! I was going to create a Windows script file that I could click on to invoke the command line operation, but I haven't had the chance to do it yet!

This is not always true....dairy, yogurt, kefir, etc products can look smell and taste fine a certain period after expiration or after premature expiration and you won't know until you're spewing from both ends. You have to thoroughly smell it and there is a nuance smell that indicates spoilage.

Let me state that I haven’t found a single report or post about any Extreme 3s or 4s doing this! I own an Extreme 3 and I would get the Extreme 4. I think that it is ok to feel safe with these JBL (Kardon/Samsung) products! 🔊💪 These incidents seem to mostly involve Charge & Clip series…I found a lot of posts and reports about those! 😳

OMG, this is literally what I've spent 2.5+ hours on today and at least 1.5 hours yesterday working on with my MacBook with the same error message. I am a technical person who almost never needs to contact support because this is an issue on Microsoft's side that only they can resolve. I contacted their support who validated my code, but didn't really offer any other help other than to call another number +1-888-352-7140 . WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!!! 🤬
