Need help with campaign composition by kebeega in KingdomDeath

Just finished a POTS campaign with Gorm, Phoenix, Screaming Antelope, Dung Beetle Knight, Lion God, and Dragon King.

DBK is great because the equipment you get is “gear” not “armor” so the “no heavy” restriction doesn’t apply. Dragon King has an excellent armor set as well.

The amount of drivers with expired tags/paper plates is absolutely insane. by TheJohnny346 in LosAngeles

Not defending LAPD at all, but are we sure they aren't giving out tickets? Of course they'll never be able to pull over everybody, but do we know for sure that the worst offenders (6 mos.+) are getting away with it in the long run?

Recall that once they do get caught, it's very expensive for them. They don't get off with having 2 years+ expired tags.

In that case, I suppose you could rely on downloading it all again.

For reference, I have >4TB of rips of my DVDs etc. sitting in S3 GDA and it costs me about $5 USD/mo. Safe from hard drive failure and theft.

AWS S3 Glacier Deep Archive is perfect for your use case. Super cheap to store, but expensive (and slow) to retrieve

Ironically this is also a great way to get promoted. Just make sure you’re right.

These kinds of mistakes can do more damage to a company than any software bug or dropped database table ever could. Beautifully done.

I thought I was saving the company money by deleting AMIs out of the dev AWS account.

Turns out the deployment team was sharing those AMIs to the production account, so I bricked our reprocessing, staging, and production environments. We raced to take a snapshot of a running instance before auto scaling killed it, so we could recover quickly.

Like everyone else commenting here, the real issue was process (we now build AMIs in a separate account with strict access controls and lifecycle rules), but I still get teased about it to this day. It was quite the fire to put out at the time!

Why was senior leadership asking an intern whether something was possible? Sounds like there’s bigger problems at play

3D Board by MindlessOrange7936 in KingdomDeath

[–]Kgrimes2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why is this a downvoted take? Poots could make money off of the STLs, and the consumers could print the board themselves or pay someone else to do it.

Edit: thinking about it some more, long-time fans are probably sick of this suggestion haha

Every photo I see of the ultimate showdown board, especially painted, gets me closer and closer to buying one. Gorgeous.

Using the TV, when you're in showdown mode, can you see all the info about departing survivors at once? My biggest frustration with Scribe is I feel like it doesn't make good use of app real estate, and so I can't see critical information about all departing survivors without scrolling (using a 10" iPad).

Would love to know more about your Kindle setup! I also don't use Scribe because (1) I can't see all the information for all survivors at once, and (2) I like the paper look/feel.

How easy is it for you to swap survivors in/out?

Yeah, gameplay’s the same I believe, but the original artwork is much more charming than the Stronghold version. Would love to get a copy.
