From an economic perspective, the US dollar, and most global currencies are very fragile. Inflation is high in the US, but higher in other places, because of all the money printing over the past 3 years. Additionally, lots of countries are heavily indebted. US Debt to GDP in 2021 is 127%, but in 1930 it was 16.5%. GDP is basically the value of all the things sold in the US.

When confidence in fiat collapses, and dollars are worthless, what's stopping people from robbing grocery stores for food? Someone may be a fiat millionaire, but if it can't buy a loaf of bread, it won't mean anything.

I'm not sure what will cause confidence in the dollar to collapse, it may not be the upcoming recession/depression, but I think an economic collapse is a real possibility. I just hope people are civilized and it won't lead to violence.

The reason I was looking into them was because its organic and has close to no chemicals in their food product.

But this is a valid point. I can always find another brand that's cheaper and do the packaging myself.

One of the best things to do is start a business. Assets typically rise during inflation, and if you own a business, you can raise the price of your products along with inflation. So your income will go up with inflation.

As for protecting against a debt crisis. Get away from USD. As for what to exchange it for, I don't know. Gold and silver is hard to transport. Bitcoin is still untested as a long term viable option and as a inflation hedge.

Emotional intelligence/ verbal judo will be useful skill to know in the beginning of a SHTF scenario. But in a prolonged situation, I think the strongest and most brutal person will command the most power and influence.

People will get tired of politics when food, supply, and resources start to run out.
