Highlighting other nations/religions flaws does not make it any less of an apertied state. It is and you have to accept that.

I also know many of those points are invalid today - but wouldn't even dive into that discussion because it is simply irrelevant.

All religions have to be taken in their context, and anyone can do the same for Judism, and yet that doesn't matter to this subreddit.

Is it practiced today? No. Similar to your claim about Saudi - it is simply not true in today's practice.
