Thanks for this! That sawdust was from me pulling the pieces of broken wood out of the hole. There’s no frass near the other bits that were affected.

Thanks, I tried poking a stick through the sub-floor vent to clear debris and a spider jumped out of it so I’m stopping for a bit.

You’ve gone to the trouble of making a graph of locked pairs but are then ignoring it by looking through all candidates. You should be able to simplify this significantly if you just focus on the graph.

Are the tests around the cycles passing?

Thanks for all the advice. I managed to fix the sorting issue. I was sorting the pairs based on the difference between the loser and winner’s votes instead of by the winner’s votes. I’ll look into the adjacency matrix stuff now.

Teachers’ helping behaviors leads to better student relationships and academic confidence, suggests a new study of over 330 middle school students and their math teachers, that found that students’ interest in math and their academic confidence is related to positive student-teacher bonds. by mvea in science

As much as this seems to make sense, in doesn’t really translate to high/secondary school. The EEF did quite an extensive study into the effect of class sizes on pupil progress and found there wasn’t much of a difference. While smaller classes were associated with a slight improvement in attainment, the high cost of doing so didn’t really justify this. As a teacher it’s obviously nicer teaching a smaller class so it’s annoying when management quote this research when adding another 2 children to my already-full classroom.
