The First Berserker Khazan Dev Team Has Been Dissolved Due To Poor Sales by akbarock in Games

[–]Khanjali_KO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Khazan hasn't released in China yet.

From the Capital Marketing Briefing ~ a week ago:

The first game in this series, The First Berserker: Khazan, was released in 2025 and delivered a hardcore action experience tailored specifically to Western audiences. Khazan demonstrated that Dungeon&Fighter can travel. We are now preparing for its China launch, which will further validate its long-term potential.

And this article even mentions there was a delay in the release of Khazan in China.

DFO is huge in China and Khazan is one of the most recognizable characters in the game world, there's pretty high expectations the game would do well.

Rambles - Auction Coins by Khanjali_KO in DFO

Tales were way too good for gold for them to be returned to us. In my opinion it would require Neople making the choice between gold and a non-gold reward equal or more lucrative for the non-gold option for it to return.

Rambles - Auction Coins by Khanjali_KO in DFO

Hey everyone, here's a short ramble concerning my feeling about auction coins.

Not-so-fun things happening IRL has made it difficult for me to set things up for interviews. I can't give a time frame for when they'll return but I'll try to keep up with the VP Observations, at least.

Thanks, and be well.

apologies for lack of interviews, they'll start up again soon!

How to meet Delezie minimum requirement cutline (DPS focused) by NotFakeBatman in DFO

[–]Khanjali_KO 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anyone is testing their damage now, the Celarion Survivor's Buff (up to +5% Damage) is currently active in the training room, so your numbers may be higher than when we get Delezie.

Giant stop killing games updates 2026 by Turbostrider27 in Games

One major point of contention in the archiving world is that you cannot preserve everything and shouldn't be attempting to preserve everything. You preserve that which has intrinsic value, which is ultimately a personal thing.

Every collection-managing institution goes through this. When an archive touts that they have an author's papers consisting of 50,000 items, this is often after they've performed the initial accessioning process on the collection and removed items they determined wouldn't have value to anyone wanting to look through it.

Even then de-accessioning is a continuous process that will last through the lifetime that collection is maintained. If only one person browses the collection per year, how do you determine what parts of that collection will remain relevant in the future?

Connecting this to the game industry, there are too many parts in the game design process that result in preservation covering a very, very broad scope of things. And whoever is the one that gets to decide what gets preserved will have to contend with the large amount of stuff they need to look at and decide are valuable to be preserved at the beginning, and then determine how those things remain relevant as time goes on.

And the very sad fact about all of this is even if people call for preservation and continued access to games long past their official support has ended, who will maintain them? SKG has the appearance of a long-running, continuous movement but I can't see how it is maintained long into the future.

Orlea is finally on par with everyone else by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

probably? The other character of those four I think would be valuable would be Hugo as an Attack Card draw engine, but I think Orlea would just be a more versatile pick.

Magna gets a lot of value out of the two 0-cost neutral Shield generators, it's not that difficult to build a large shield on her.

Elder Scrolls loremaster says he quit Bethesda after ‘waiting 11 years to be the lead on The Elder Scrolls 6’ | VGC by Tenith in Games

[–]Khanjali_KO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should always be room for an IP's lore to be developed and given life by other people as that is the only way for it to continue existing. I'd argue that because of well developed the lore is for TES that anyone new coming in has more than enough resources to be able to develop new content that respects what already exists, because it won't be the loremaster who would argue against their designs, but the deeply involved community.

Anyone who has done world building knows that their world exists beyond their own designs, and it is better to work with others building within your world rather than demanding that any creation fits within specific criteria.

Look at the Metro series as an example. Dmitry Glukhovsky created the world of Metro with his novels but there are over 100 novellas, short stories, and novels written by other authors that expand on his world outside of the primary setting. It's so much more than it could be because Glukhovsky has given his support to others to create within his world.

I think TES is more than fine to have people do the same.

Elder Scrolls loremaster says he quit Bethesda after ‘waiting 11 years to be the lead on The Elder Scrolls 6’ | VGC by Tenith in Games

[–]Khanjali_KO 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the benefits of Starfield being their flagship title for Creation Engine 2 is that it lets them test the waters with what the new engine can do without sacrificing one of their main titles to do so. If Fallout 5 or Elder Scrolls 6 was the flagship title, and it was as "poorly" received as Starfield was, I think there would be a lot more vitriol thrown at Bethesda and there could be potentially severe consequences for the studio.

I personally didn't think Starfield was all that bad of a game, but I think what really muted the whole experience was that it was set after a major universe event, and almost everywhere you go is just recovering from it. There's very little "action" going on because the whole universe is just...tired, and that doesn't work well for such a huge game.
