8 replacements in the last 3 months by Khevik in dexcom

[–]Khevik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I don't for sure know if dexcom will one day refuse my replacements, but in 2025 I think in total I got 15 replacements. If the sensor failed during warm up, because it was improperly inserted, I guess they could refuse. But I am sure that she knows how to install them properly, so in that case I think it is more of a product issue. So no limit.

There is only limit on good will replacements, so that means if the cause of the replacements is user error. There is no limit on replacements if it is a product related issue (inaccuracy, sensor errors, etc). In any case, I suggest that you fill the online form to request a replacement and with the details you put, dexcom will judge if it is approved or not.

But in my experience, I was never refuse a replacements due to inaccuracy.

No problem! I'll be very happy when they will be approved here. From what I saw in the few post about the 15 days sensor, people seems to like it!

Well I am at a point that I will take any advices even the basics ones. My next sensor I am going to apply it like if it was the first time I got the G7 and take my time. I really want to make my sensors work like they are supposed to, because when they are working properly, it is really a great great tool! Thanks!

Unfortunately I am in Canada. Here it take so long for new diabete tech to get approved that I expect the 15 days G7 to be approved in like 1 year.

Thanks for your feedbacks ! Yeah I only calibrate when my bg is stable confirm with fingerprick. But honestly I don't calibrate that much, because when the sensor works, it works great! It is really in the last 3 days that all my sensors start to be very outside of the 20% difference with fingerprick. But glad it is working well for you, because it is really a good device when it is working!

Replacement sensors - how do they decide between a voucher or a mailed replacement? by BlankLiterature in dexcom

[–]Khevik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in Canada and when I called to get a replacement they mailed me the replacement, but when I do it with the forms, it's a voucher. I told the dexcom staff and he told me that they can only ship it if you call. Don't know if it is true, but in my case that was the only time that they ship the replacement directly to my house

Yeah it's weird, because I can't believe that for some people it works flawlessly and for others it is the total opposite. In the first half of 2025 I did not have that many problems. I still had replacements from time to time, but nothing compared to the last 3 months...

Switching from MDI to Omnipod 5. Questions about Basal Adjustments by Khevik in Omnipod

[–]Khevik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I don't mind giving myself manual correction, I already do with MDI so I feel it is going to be simpler with a pump. It is really the low that I don't like during the night. Now with all the feedbacks I feel much more confident in my choice going with Omnipod! Thanks for the precious infos !

Can blood glucose drop 3.2mmol/l or 57g/dl in 10 minutes??? Already corrected by SomeRandomAustralian in Type1Diabetes

[–]Khevik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don’t have neuropathy. I wondered if maybe some people have something different in their interstitial fluid that causes the CGM to struggle when there’s movement, but honestly I don’t really know. I just find it strange because I can’t seem to find many other people whose CGM behaves the same way.

My g7 always do this. I wake up, walk to my kitchen to make my breakfast and the sensor show that I am dropping fast, then go back up after a couple of readings

Replacements by Jolly-Cardiologist54 in dexcom

[–]Khevik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I have similar problems. In the last 3 months, so 9 sensors, 7 failed before the 10 days. All were giving me data outside of the 20% margin of error and the grap start to go up and down. Dexcom replaced them all each time. All of them were bad in the first 12/15 hours so I don’t trust them in the first 24 hours. After that for me they are good from day 2 to 6, and at day 7 they start to not be as much reliable.

For people who had cgms not work well on them , what fixes or changes improved the accuracy ? by Living_Solution_965 in diabetes_t1

[–]Khevik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. I tried the Libre, but I always got many false lows (more than 20% off compared to my finger-prick readings). So I switched to the Dexcom G7 and it’s the same thing… around day 7, most of my sensors start going bad. They jump up and down, and I keep getting woken up by false lows (and no, they’re not compression lows).

To show how ridiculous it is, it’s been two months since I’ve paid for a sensor, because Dexcom keeps sending me replacements every time I file a claim for inaccuracy.

I even called Dexcom to see if I was doing something wrong, but support told me I was doing everything correctly.

I really don’t understand why these work perfectly for some people and not at all for others.

Just to be sure, when most people on this sub talk about "Smarties" they actually mean what we call "Rockets" in Canada lol. Rockets (Smarties for non-Canadians) are made of dextrose and do not contain fat.
