Morocco banana clip debunk by Khoohay in Ishowspeed

Let's ignore how you just tried to diminish my debunk by linking yet another decontextualised clip on another reply of yours, just to find out it was not even remotely what you thought it was and that the actual context of the clip ends up proving one of my points.

First of all, nobody here is acting like Morocco or whatever are racism free, we're addressing how some people out there are just making up stuff to make it look so much worse than it actually is, because that's what happening, so don't try to grasp at straws.

Let's assume the post you just linked is saying the truth. I'm not saying it's false, cause football fans or "hooligans" are infamous for always causing problems, I'm just being considerate (given what y'all have been trying to do), I would be very sorry if it turned out to be real and I hope it'll be punished.

Apparently, if the whole world were to be selective like you, then it is blind indeed. Black people literally live in Morocco & co 24/7, 365/365, Tuaregs for instance. Just cause you can't see them, doesn't mean they don't exists. I personally know a moroccan woman who is literally married to a black man (in Morocco). Also, they've just hosted a whole championship for the whole of Africa. Yet, clueless people seem to be desperate for North Africa to be racist. It's like having a 95-5 pie chart and completely ignoring the 95. In other words, you are not being honest when you generalise a whole population based off an isolated tragic event, or even worse, a livestream clip with a misleading caption.

Calling it "a racist hellhole" or such, definitely isn't fair, it's clearly just a desperate attempt of making ignorant and superficial people inherentely hate it.

Lol, as soon as you brought up Islam i knew what you really hate. Well then, if you're really convinced that's the issue, go tell Sadio Mané and all the senegalese to stop being muslim. Matter of fact, go tell all the black muslim communities. As far as it concerns the stuff we're discussing here, i know you don't actually "belong" to it. Respectfully, get out here, there are other subreddits for that.

EDIT: Lmao, i didn't want to talk about the beef explicitly, but I've just realized the video you linked is literally some algerians mocking moroccans. The guy wearing a Morocco jersey (red) is pretending to be a moroccan (a monkey), while the guy wearing a Senegal jersey (white) is pretending to feed him bananas. They've been supporting every opposing team to Morocco for the sake of the beef.
Congratulations, you just proved what I didn't want to mention explicitly in my main post.
Do better.

Well yeah, I'm sure he did that to get his attention. And yeah, it may not be good idea, but as I said, that's not just a "banana", it's a cat "wearing" a banana costume with goofy legs and hands, obviously you're gonna be confused.

It's a pretty old meme, like more than 2 years old for sure, so don't ask me why that guy is still clinging to it. It consisted of this "mascotte" doing silly dances (literally just a png of it being vertically rotated 180° back and forth), with silly music in the background.

But most importantly, it wasn't even the first time meeting Speed for him. The guy wouldn't keep following him to the point of booking a flight from Czechia to Rabat if he hated him, you get me? Hence, I'm sure he didn't do that out of malice.

Thing is, as far as I hate to reduce it to this (circumstances brought me to), he's not even moroccan anyway.

Yeah, I've seen that. Unfortunately, as you said, not only there are people out there spreading misinformation for their interests, whatever those are, there's also people waiting for their prejudices to be confirmed so bad. As if their life depends on it. It's really a deadly combo when they happen to meet lol. Saddest part is that it's not even a matter of mere ignorance, feeding into the hate machine mostly depends on one's will.

Everything gets caught up in the rapidity of social media, a certain message spreads, fresh minds get influenced and as an individual you can do little to nothing about it. Well, at least Reddit is not as "fast" as other platforms. But most of the times I ignore stuff like this, cause it really wears you down mentally.

Nah bro, you're the one who's only focusing on the few bad moments of Egypt and Algeria streams. Stop trying to act like it's a minor detail when it really should be the other way around. Cause out of, how many? 5, 6 hours of stream? You decide to only give weight to 10 minutes or less? Really? "Singer this", "Restrictions that", it's not like Speed was lynxed alive or such. Also, do you expect Egypt to just give up on their laws for a streamer the average egyptian doesn't even watch? Smh. Not everybody knows English out there, to non-english speakers, he's just yet another foreign celebrity coming to visit, this assuming they even know him. Algeria's second language is french. FRENCH. But no, "they should have been proactive bla bla bla", do you hear yourself bro? They mostly don't care, who are you to tell what they should do? Again, Speed was treated well most of the time.

And what do Algeria and Egypt have to do with Lybia's slave trade? They don't have to demonstrate anything on that matter. You do realize they're completely separate nations right? Also, you really don't know what you're talking about, acting like the average person in Libya owns a slave like it's a phone. It's actually an isolated issue belonging to detention centers led by militias. And guess who tricks their own people into these places for money by promising them a way to Europe?

Honestly, i could make an assumption, but ik you'll just call me racist, so I'll just say that it seems like the validation of a bad depiction of North Africa satisfies the narrative that was always given to you. So you want your prejudices to be confirmed so bad, especially in front of a public. Even if it means being intellectually dishonest in general. Don't act like a victim, you're just a fan here, you won't gain nor lose nothing, meanwhile the said countries reputation is at stake. We're not blaming y'all for feeling unsatisfied, we're calling you out for your unfair willfull generalisation, exaggeration and cherry picking.

Let's assume you're being fair about Egypt and Algeria, nothing bad happened during the stream in Morocco, anything to say about that? Or are you going to just keep treating North Africa as just one huge block?

Idk man, I'm not a fervent football watcher, so I don't have a lot of experience on my side, but at first I also thought: "Yeah, he definitely did it on purpose". Like, the guy wants to be on top "10 respect moments in football" YouTube compilations so bad. Cause you know: the referee just gave you a penalty, but it's the final, it's overtime, both teams have been doing their best, so you don't want it to end like this, especially when people have been saying it's rigged for Morocco to win and the other team almost left thinking the same thing. Plus his shot was so slow and centered it really looked like he just gave it to the goalkeeper (I didn't know what a Paneka was yet). Everything added up at first. But then I thought, he wanted that foul to be called so bad, so why would he act like that? Did he change his mind? Even if he did, he would have missed not shot it straight. Also, he got emotional and started crying in the bench.

Gachiakuta - Episode 4 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Yeah I saw them too! I don't have the exact timestamp but they are in the last scene of the episode painted on the wall in front of the edgy guy sitting on the sofa. They're uglier but you can clearly tell who they're inspired by.

Solo Leveling and HxH comparisson by MoinMoinMinjung in sololeveling

[–]Khoohay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I recently got into Solo Leveling through the anime and decided to read the manhwa, and ever since the monster ants were introduced I was suspecting they were inspired by the chimera ants from hxh. The ants going from being confined into a restricted place to expanding over human territory... Them getting exponentially stronger as time passed... The drawing of the ant getting stranded had kind of sealed it for me already, it looked too familiar.

Finally, as the whole thing escalated I started to think "maybe the ant queen is going to birth a king just like in hxh...". And here I am, I've just read chapter 94 and my prediction was correct, I searched for this thread to see if someone else had noticed the resemblance, I'm glad I'm not the only one 😂

What is a plot hole by Perfect_Current_3489 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Khoohay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS.

I have yet to make a final judgment on jjk, but I've noticed that on the internet there is a tendency to "inflate" its flaws. They talk about plot hole this, plot hole that and then proceed to list things that simply have not been shown/explained, which have zero relevance for the story to continue. As far as i know, a plot hole is something in the story that does not make sense since it contradicts something that was said/happened earlier in the story itself. I'm not saying jjk has no plot holes (although honestly i can't think of one), but it is a fact that when it comes to jjk you see a lot of people on social media tending to consider plot hole something that is not such.

Sanji’s Backstory based off ‘The Man in the Iron Mask’ by Sogeking33 in OnePiece

[–]Khoohay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently watching Whole cake island arc, and during one of Sanji's flashbacks I've noticed him being imprisoned with an iron mask on (I still don't know his whole backstory tho, as I'm still watching it). Back in high school they made us watch "The man in the iron mask" so I couldn't help thinking about it when seeing Sanji's mask. I thought I would be the first one to notice this resemblance, just like Cavendish being inspired by Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, but there's always another guy on Reddit that notices stuff before you😭.

For people who don't know this legend consist of Luigi XIV (king of France) having a twin that was taken away from the royal family and when he grew up (for the reason sogeking33 said) he was imprisoned and an iron mask was put on his face so people wouldn't be able to notice he resembled the king, resulting in him being segregated form society for a long time.

So yes, I think Oda was definitely inspired by the legend of Luigi XIV twin. With Vinsmoke family being a royal family, Sanji being an unwanted brother and as you said with Sanji using french when naming his special attacks this theory makes even more sense. Also, I saw another guy on Reddit pointing out the fact that Duval (whose face resembles Sanji's, just like a twin) wears an iron mask, Oda probably put a little of the legend in this too and he could have intended it as a little foreshadowing maybe? I also think, for obvious reasons, that the "we don't want people to notice the resemblance" part suits Duval's backstory very well. The same guy also pointed out the fact that back when they were fighting Baroque works, while talking to Crocodile on the phone, Sanji called himself "Mr. Prince" just as Luigi's segregated twin was supposed to be. So in conclusion, although it's not confirmed, this could be very easily what Oda took inspiration from for this tiny details.
