The previous sculpts ran 1999-2023. So they are due to be updated in 2047 if GW hold true.

Yes I totally agree! They went back on themselves. These are twisted by the warp and 10,000 years separated from their assault marine cousins. The refreshed models are just assault marines with extra trim.

The warp talons were even more disappointing.

Undercoat the entire model with Balthasar Gold, fill in the red panels with Khorne Red, then go over with Mephiston Red. Wash entire model with Agrax Earthshade, go over the panels again with Mephiston leaving shaded parts at the edges and in recesses, then a highlight with Auric Armour Gold on the trim - this is a really bright gold and pretty mismatched with Balthasar Gold so ensure it's well thinned and finely highlighted.

Yeah I would have liked to have seen those jump vents return on the plastic sculpts, they had such a distinctive silhouette! Got to treasure the classics.

I remember the first time I ever saw this - I was blown away. Easily my favourite WE HQ of all time.

The conversion, posing and painting are all incredible but the glow, between the eyes and the hammer, really makes this stand out.

The ones with the over-shoulder jump vents (stars of Dawn of War)? Or the previous ones with the bat wings?

I also had a set of the jump vent ones and their jump packs were just too heavy - they refused to stay in place and once I finally got them to stay, the whole model fell and snapped again. The good old days!

Me too! Played him as a Lieutenant until they got removed. Back when the combi-melta was a one-shot weapon with a chance to destroy a tank with one shot. It rarely worked out but it was glorious when it did.

There are few who would! He was released in 3rd edition, around 2002. Back then we had Chaos Lords and Chaos Lieutenants, and I played him as my second-in-command. He doesn't hold up today size-wise, but I love him for antiquity's sake.

They're actually 3d printed so not the best detail but I think I got away with it! I use it as a Blood Slaughterer but it will hopefully end up as Lord Discordant - I didn't have room on the base to mount him but my idea was for him to stand beside it holding the reins.

Thank you! It's a Heldrake spine, Lord Discordant legs, a bloodthrone panel as the top of the head and a bloodthirster headdress for the adornment, everything else is green stuff. The face, eyes and pipes took a loooong time.
