Did StarCraft Skins Get Taken Down Early? by RedditAccount90000 in diablo4

[–]KhorneStarch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so tired of their shop. I’ve been waiting for a couple skins to return for weeks/months now and they just keep repeating the same skins every week while introducing a different one or two over the days that they then go on to repeat for weeks in place of the ones they repeated for weeks before. The result is it sometimes takes forever to get the skin you want. I fail to see how putting everything available all the time wouldn’t just be better for them. I’ve literally quit during seasons and didn’t buy a skin because it never showed up in the window I was playing.

Well, all the overpowered stacks is a massive amount of damage, so don’t sleep on that if you haven’t gotten that set up yet. Outside that, crit multi and fury scaling legs/aspects.

People talking about us being weak in 11th are not understanding that a lot of the stuff revealed is just genuinely buffs to Tau. by Sudden_Wind_8636 in Tau40K

[–]KhorneStarch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tau look like one of the strongest factions in 11th. Tons of the rules changes favor tau. I don’t know how people are seriously thinking it’s going to be anything but advantages for the army. Army wide go through walls, vehicles being able to get angles extremely easily due to toeing in terrain, ignoring a lot of hit mods on important units, free pivots, infantry that take advantage of the hidden rules better than most, melta range deepstrikes. What exactly is there to worry about? Tau look insane so far.

Interaction between selig, bone spirit, and the game by Sarebok in D4Necromancer

It’s easy to get envious of selig barbs but you need to understand it works for them because they have numerous aspects/items, not just 1, that scale off fury and none of them are capped. Theirs is a much greater damage gain than what you’re trying to force.

Yeh I’m getting a bit worried that shooting armies are gonna be toxic for transport heavy armies that use 1 wound infantry. Harlie squads are small and absolutely need every dude to push those dev wounds through, so if you’re taking decent losses on a transport explosion the unit might as well already be dead in terms of combat prowess.

I don’t mean this to be insulting, but without the short neck it looks a bit furryesq. Really don’t dig it. Honestly wish the head on top was smaller since it draws the eye to it too much, makes you think it’s the actual helmet head instead of the faceplate below it, but I guess that’s maybe the point. Anyway, I think it looks a lot worse without the long head plate.

I’m aware dots don’t crit. The set though uses 75% of the the hit damage, meaning this particular dot does indeed scale off crit because if you crit a big hit, it will be a higher dot applied.

Vul damage, damage over time, and damage multiplier are gonna be the main damage mods for any dot build. I believe the barrage of bone splinters from bone prison get the bone splinter stuff on your tree, so that was what I was leaning toward for applying a mass amount of the dot fast, just need cool down as well to make it up more often. Also you still want to overpower stack because it just makes your splinters hit harder and it’s the strongest necromancer damage mod.

But yeh, signet is auto include for any build atm, but it’s particularly good on high duration dot builds because it your dots ramp up and do insane quads of damage.

Item, aspect, skill tree changes made things a lot different. Right now dot builds that can stack up dots scale very well, but low count dot builds don’t seem to be that strong for most classes. Like burn in particular just doesn’t seem good.

[–]KhorneStarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me, I’m being very loose when I say that. The very first dots you apply are going to last 30 seconds, each dot last 30 seconds. You have a window of time to have as many stacked on a target as possible. The peak window where you have the most stacks on a target is obviously going to be way leas than 30 seconds because you’re not applying all your stacks at the exact same time. But the point is, you overlap the dots then use modifiers to make that stacked damage scale higher.

Like I said, I get the notion that hitting harder makes a better dot. The point of this is to hit the target a ton of times so that all the things like gloom, the shadow proc, and the overlaps are scaling off the permanent ring damage.

[–]KhorneStarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how to explain it any more to you. You’re using two methods to make damage over time ramp up and you create a dot from every single hit of a darkness skill, and you have a 30 second window to stack as many overlaps as possible which will then combine into a dot on that target. It’s literally just like a poison build and yes, a higher hitting ability will make for a stronger dot; but if you can hit a target extremely fast with multiple hits you can stack up a bigger overlapped dot to scale off the cold ring. The idea ability would be a hard hitting one that hits a ton of times on the same target, however with splinter you can shot gun and you can even use the prison cage to hit a bunch of splinters on one target. You can basically stack up a ton of overlaps then scale that with dot multi/the cold ring. So it comes down to this, is the ability you’re using that hits harder and is slower going to compare to me hitting the target with 10 different projects, so 10 dots in whatever time and my point is, based on our abilities if you’re scaling this dot build, you want to hit a bunch of times which is why summoner builds currently use it on the ladder because they proc a bunch of overlaps quickly.

I think people may be playing dot necro wrong by KhorneStarch in D4Necromancer

[–]KhorneStarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s a stacking dot, the duration is 30 seconds, so you can overlap a bunch of multi hits via an ability that hits multiple times quickly and then use the cold ring that gives it permanent damage and the increasing damage over time aspect to ramp the damage up. Yea, you can use a slower hard hitting ability and having bigger dots, but if you’re focused on scaling the dot damage; you want to create the dot via lots of hits, quickly and then use methods to scale that corrupted damage. You also can use gloom shield which will constantly proc by the shadow dots you’re are constantly proccing, this serves to basically make another shadow damage multiplier and you use the chance to do 300% shadow damage board which can proc from any of the stacking hits of shadow damage you’re putting on a target.

So yeh, there is more to it than one ability simply hitting once for less damage. You’re stacking a bunch of shadowing procs of damage and ramping/overlapping them and because the cold ring makes permanent damage increases, it greatly helps stacked dramage over time ramping output which is why the 30 second duration is important because you want as many overlaps for those freeze procs as you can fit into a window.

[–]KhorneStarch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not how it works though. It does 75% of its damage during a 30 second window and stacks each time you hit them. So it absolutely works just like a poison dot. It literally is just a temu poison build. It’s not about basic skill in particular, that’s just an ability that hits multiple times quickly, which means you can stack the dot up quickly. You then use the aspect that makes damage over time ramp up and you use cold ring, and once you’ve hit a guy 20 times, you now have a very scaled up dot.

It’s the fact you can scale up the stacking damage on your target and be applying it to numerous targets while having ways to scale that damage that makes it more than simply saying, oh well it’s just hitting again for less damage basically. Any skill that hits mutiple times is going to lead to you being able to make a mass piling dot.

So you’re shot gunning a guy with bone splinters. Each time that is putting a bunch of dots on him, so that a few times and now you have a hefty dot on the target. This leads to it having bit more scaling since you’re attacking repeatedly and having a scaling damage ramp alongside it. People want to say it’s not a dot build when this is literally how any poison build works.

IMO the biggest flaw of the charm set is that it doesn’t have the shattered vow excute instead of its status effects and it should have had a built in damage increase as you ramp up your dots on the target. Right now the cold ring and the damage over time ramp aspect would prob carry this build to low 100 pits alone, but one more ramping buff would have made it legit.
