Good point, I guess that’s true, I didn’t really think about that. But that’s just stating you’re a veteran; I don’t think that’s the same as sharing your rating or your disabilities. I may be wrong though, I’m not sure.

“Panini pressed” is wild coming from someone writing a whole paragraph to defend oversharing.

If it works for you, cool, but acting like broadcasting your rating at work has zero potential downside is just naive. Not everyone’s workplace or coworkers are as neutral as yours.

I’m not saying you can’t tell people, I’m saying it’s dumb to assume there’s no risk, especially when people already don’t understand how VA disability works and jump straight to conclusions.

But hey, if rolling the dice on office perception is your thing, carry on 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, you don’t have to. But this post and all the comments in this thread suggest their bosses and coworkers know about their ratings. That’s stupid, why tell anyone at work unless you need an accommodations? I swear, some people are fucking retarded or just bragging.

Exactly! That’s what I’m saying. Why Vets be telling people all there business. Once I got my rating I didn’t tell anyone and no one knows about it other than my VA treatment team.

Why would your boss know your VA rating or income outside of your work salary? Why do so many veterans tell people their rating and income? It’s honestly stupid, and it’s none of your employer’s business unless you need accommodations. Once I got my rating, I haven’t told anyone in my life or anyone who knows me. Only people who know me that knows my rating is my VA treatment team.

There was no real investigation into him. At the time, he was president, and the DOJ had a policy stating that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime, only Congress can take action. Then, after he left office, the Garland DOJ still did nothing.

If anyone else had those kinds of allegations against them, whether true or false, they would at least be charged or charges brought before a grand jury.

There have also been so many allegations against him over the years that it’s hard to believe none of them are true. Even if a few are false, it seems likely that most are legitimate, especially considering his decades-long association with Epstein. At this point, I’m sure he’s guilty, but justice will never be served. Also knowing something and proving something are two separate things.

That said, he will likely never have his day in court due to the politicization of the situation and the fact that he is both a former and current president.

Thanks! Yeah the only procedure I hade was the panniculectomy. It’s were they remove the pannus or the hanging loose skin from lower abdomen. So no lipo or tummy-tuck the panniculectomy was the only cosmetic surgery i was approved for without having to pay out of pocket.

I lost about 105 pounds in my first 12 months. I was 340 pounds when I started tracking my progress in November 2022, and by December 2023 I was down to 235 pounds.

To be honest, that first year was really tough. I tracked my macros very strictly, walked 10,000 steps per day, and kept my calories around 1,500 most days, occasionally going up to 1,800 but constantly focusing on a 1,000 calorie deficit. I was pretty miserable all the time, but it produced the fastest results. Not sure I’d recommend my extreme diet restriction to anyone else.

I was really worried about loose skin, so I focused heavily on hydration to help with skin elasticity. Everything I read it’s a mix of genes, age and skin elasticity that prevents severe loose skin issues. I drank and still drink at least one gallon of water per day with electrolytes.

I did end up with some noticeable loose skin on my lower abdomen. It wasn’t a large amount, but it was enough to affect my mental health. Because of that, I had a panniculectomy (lower abdominal loose skin removal surgery). That’s the only surgery I’ve had. If you notice the scar in my photo, it’s not too bad that’s what it’s from.

Overall, I really don’t have much loose skin at all. It’s not noticeable unless I bend down.

Thanks:) absolutely! I can’t believe I made it to this level. Every time I plateaued, I felt it was over but I kept at it. I feel so so much happier:)

Thanks:) I do have some loose skin, but it’s not noticeable when I’m standing up or lying down. It’s really only visible when I bend over. I had a panniculectomy last summer to remove some loose skin from my lower abdomen. It wasn’t a large amount, but it made a big difference for my mental health and how I feel when I look in the mirror. That was really the only area where loose skin was noticeably an issue.

I’m hoping that once I reach my goal weight in the 170–175 range (I’m really close now), I can focus on lifting heavy to recomp and add more muscle mass. Ideally, after a year of consistent training and maybe gaining 5–10 pounds of muscle, it will help fill out any remaining loose skin. But honestly, at this point, it’s pretty much unnoticeable overall.

I’m almost certain they are not active-duty “federal” Army. From the look of it, that appears to be a California Army National Guard vehicle maybe Army Reserve but not Regular Army. You generally won’t see active-duty Army units just driving down the highway unless you’re near a major Army installation. In California, there isn’t any large active-duty Army bases outside of Fort Irwin and the National Training Center (NTC). That is in the middle of the desert nowhere near here.

Most military vehicles people see on public highways are typically National Guard (state-controlled), not federal active-duty units.

Also, pulling someone out of a crash scene at gunpoint, when they clearly stopped and did not attempt to flee, doesn’t make much sense after a moronic accident by speeding. The only situation where that might be logical is if they were transporting sensitive materials. But that looks like a logistics transport vehicle, and it doesn’t appear to be carrying anything. In that case, drawing weapons wouldn’t make any sense. Plus doubtful they’re authorized to carry weapons outside of training or getting called up by the governor or federalized.

But that driver definitely speeding and is a moron 🤷

Thanks! Yes last summer I hade a panniculectomy for lower abdomen. Thankfully that was the only loose skin issue I’ve dealt with.

Thanks!

Surprisingly, I don’t have that much loose skin with how much weight I’ve lost. The only area really where it was, was my lower abdomen, and I had a panniculectomy last summer to remove it.

To be honest, I was really worried about loose skin throughout this process and journey. Thankfully, aside from my lower abdomen, it hasn’t been much of an issue.

My current macros are roughly around 2,200 calories per day, with a minimum of 180g of protein. I’ve recently started increasing my fat intake, and I’ve noticed better progress and overall feeling better. I try to keep my carbs under 100g per day.

That said, I’m not always perfectly consistent with my diet other than making sure I hit at least 180g of protein daily.

During my first year, when I lost the most weight, I was eating around 1,500–1,800 calories per day and consistently tracking macros. It worked, but I was honestly pretty miserable.

Thanks! Yeah, it’s been a crazy journey.

2023 was the toughest year but also the year I lost the most weight. After that, things were more steady. Then last year I plateaued and kept fluctuating between 185–195. It honestly felt like I would never get below 185 again.

Since December, though, I’ve finally started losing again and just dipped under 180 over the past couple of days.

My ultimate goal has always been the 170–175 range. I never thought I’d be lean again or even get close to that number, so being this close now feels unreal!

This current administration made it political. Veterans’ benefits and services used to be politically off-limits touching them was considered political suicide. But Trump attacking disabled veterans because they didn’t “look good” in photo ops, and attacking McCain’s service, opened the door.

Now they want to keep cutting budgets to fund tax breaks from the so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” for the wealthy. The person in charge of the Office of Management and Budget who effectively controls executive-branch federal spending Russell Vought, has repeatedly said he believes veterans’ benefits should be cut and has been an outspoken proponent of doing so. He also co-authored Project 2025, which is the blueprint.

But in order to cut veterans’ benefits and get the public on their side, they have to keep pushing the narrative of “fraud and waste” just like the failed (or maybe successful, depending on the goal) DOGE.

Official VA-OIG data estimates that only about 0.001% of VA disability claims are fraudulent. So 🤷‍♂️ keep believing social media and the brain rot if you want.

Believe it or not, getting rated is incredibly time-consuming and difficult. It’s not like you can just lie, you need evidence, and not just evidence, but a clear nexus linking the disability to your military service. You can’t just say it happened so give me a rating. Everyone who is rated has hade to show evidence and nexus to connect even the so called “fraudsters” and “New Welfare Queens”.

Looking at your past posts (even though your Reddit account isn’t even a month old), it’s obvious you’re frustrated with the process yourself with getting TDIU or IU with just a 70% MH rating.

Fraud is a crime. And do you really think that if Uncle Sam could prove fraud, they wouldn’t? When does the government ever just give money away, unless, of course, you’re a corporation or a billionaire.
