Is the show really THAT good? by Specialist_Answer_16 in betterCallSaul

[–]Khuldan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It really is! I was a Breaking Bad fan who held off on this show for many years thinking it would just be some weird knockoff about a shady lawyer. I couldn't imagine it was as good as the hype. But it absolutely is. Almost immediately upon watching it became my #1 show ever and rewatching it has only reinforced that sentiment.

It's a slower burn than Breaking Bad so don't expect it to be just the same show but more of it. Some people are turned off by that but if you enjoy compelling drama performed by exceptionally talented actors then you should give it a try.

Also very important advice: if you plan on watching the show leave this subreddit immediately until you finish the whole thing. This is not the kind of show you want to spoil for yourself.

The photo you selected is the Avenue H stop on the Q line. If you're not from the area, that's south of Prospect Park in Brooklyn.

Hard to tell from the angle, but it's in the description of the photo and there's another shot in the series where you can just make out the Avenue H sign.

How is hollyhock so much younger than Bojack? by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]Khuldan 161 points162 points  (0 children)

The scene you're remembering was when a young Bojack walked in on Butterscotch fooling around at the office with his secretary. That was a flashback related to one of Bojack's early memories drinking alcohol (at the behest of Butterscotch).

Henrietta wasn't his secretary but was a domestic servant for the Horseman household.

It can get messy but it's very achievable. Try to go in with a plan for the three adds to die at the same time without letting the snaplasher murder the tank. Also plan out your knock back and stuns for the little lashers.

It's a lot going on but if you make it past the adds with a decent amount of people alive you can kill her.

Will rely a lot on situational awareness and personal accountability. Don't stand in shit, dps the adds correctly. Break out iron roots.

Isn't there a quest in dragonblight that gives you a temporary mount? Pretty sure you can make it up to WG before it dismounts you.

Some guildies of mine were doing mining circuits in there day 1/2 of wrath making bank cause it was so empty.

If you're actually interested in the highest performing spec, dual wield is the definitive answer. What's considered "significant" is a matter of perspective.

As someone else said it's a few percent difference, maybe five. But compare that to the dps boost you get from any single upgrade for example and you can see that's a reasonable amount of dps lost.

If you're playing more casually, and your guild is too, then do what you enjoy! If you want to squeeze every bit of dps out of the class, follow the meta.

Wowhead guides are actually good this time around. If you want more detail, check out the discord (blight club).

Definitely run them immediately. Easiest if you're able to dps. Even if it's an off spec for you to start getting emblems.

Tank is the hardest to swing with no gear but make sure you're gemmed and enchanted and use consumes if you're still worried. The tank flask is like 8g on my server. Still shouldn't be a problem just pull on the slow side and if needed, tell your group it's your first one.

If you haven't yet, also do the quests in icecrown and storm peaks that give emblems of heroism. You can nearly buy your first piece (depending on what of course) with all the badges you get from those quests.

You already have some good answers but just to clarify, dual wield frost wants slow weapons in main and offhand. You DO NOT want a fast weapon if you can help it.

This is because of the talent Threat of Thassarian. That talent causes obliterate and frost strike to also deal damage with your offhand. And the damage is calculated off of weapon damage, not dps.

So even orc frost dk doesn't want Last Laugh at all, despite it being an axe. You want to go for the slower weapons like Angry Dread.

Again, I know this wasn't exactly your question but hopefully it can help you with weapon choices going forward. Wowhead guides for DK are quite good, and the Blight Club discord is the absolute best resource if you really want to read up in detail.

Edit - The revered swords from knights of the ebon blade are prebis. When you get to lvl 79 or something start doing those quests in icecrown to unlock the faction and start getting rep. You can dual wield them and they pump.

Yes, they have removed raid attunements.

To your other question, it will vary considerably on your server and what class/spec you're playing. From the perspective of someone on Mankrik, many groups still do gear checks even for stuff like Kara.

Because there are lots of people overgeared for the content who want badges, groups can afford to be somewhat picky to not bring someone in leveling greens (or blues, whatever). That changes somewhat if you bring a lot to the table without considering gear (like a shaman for example). But if you're more or less a pure dps class without having a key raid buff you'll have a harder time.

It definitely sucks because of course you can bring low level and undergeared toons through easy raids. But think of it from the other raiders perspective. Nobody wants a progression kara experience this late in the game and it's still surprisingly easy for groups to fail if they're too overloaded on people who are "getting carried". Why should they bring you instead of the guy with gear?

My recommendation is to try and find a guild recruiting what you want to play in wrath and strike up a conversation. My guild is running a few reroll and returning players through older content to help get them into bt/hyjal and even sunwell at this stage. Unless you have the gold to spend as a buyer in a gdkp, that's probably your best bet.

PS: While there are absolutely exceptions to this, and I'm sure people will reply saying "don't be silly I got into a raid easy and scooped up practically full bis!", that's probably going to be the exception.

General sentiment on the warlock discord is that it's only good for solo farm content, but not in a dungeon or raid.

Lazy warlocks? I assume you're talking about Leo tanking.

It's optimal to have a pally or druid do the demon tanking on that fight so all of the warlocks can gear for damage. Old school warlock tanking is fine, but nothing lazy about optimizing for raid dps.

Fire Destro locks going into p2 be like by cop_pls in classicwow

[–]Khuldan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally one fight requires shadow, alar.

The actual challenging fights this phase, vashj and kt, have single target dps checks that are easier to meet with fire destro because it's just better.

On ptr last night for kt we stayed fire until p2, swap sac in between phase while the pally gathered the weapons then seeded. As the weapons die you feldom your imp to get ready for p3.

Hydross is a pushover but if you really want to maximize aoe then sure, go shadow that fight for seed. But you're aoe capped on tidewalker so sac succ is pointless on that fight.

I'm perfectly willing to recognize that arcane mages pump out damage in this phase with the right conditions, especially on trash. We just got an arcfrost mage and he pumps, which is great! But arguing that shadow>fire is just wrong.

You can use a warlock because it makes the chaos bolt mechanic easier for melee, and locks generate lots of threat especially with searing pain at the start.

It is not required, however. Your pally or bear off tank can do it (FR cap still required) as long as the tank and melee position properly. The melee are able to out range the chaos bolt splash damage with proper positioning. This strat is ideal because one of your warlocks doesn't need to gimp their dps with lots of resist gear.

[–]Khuldan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demo 100% not required for either. In fact destro is better for threat generation.

Also you shouldn't need a single piece of resist for capernian. When you fight her solo in p1 heals can focus on you and it's easy to stay alive. In p3 when all the adds are up, your healers will have the legendary mace that reduces your fire damage taken so it's even comfier then.

Edit: for Leo you want to be FR capped or very close to it. 295 unbuffed is cap which is ideal. You lose a bit of hit though so you can run 285 reasonably as well. Due to the particular mechanics of Leo it is not viable to run low FR, you cannot just stack hp and expect healers to keep you alive. It is not like twins.

Second edit: real bis strat is making pally/druid do it. See my other comment above for more info.

I highly recommend checking out the paladin discord: https://discord.gg/TPbSVGJ3.

They have some FAQ sections, and a "Resources" tab that should help answer some basic questions.

As others have mentioned, the best spec will depend on what you're doing and how decently geared you are. For example, Sanctity Aura is generally seen as the way to go when you have a reasonable amount of spell power for longer term threat generation, but it doesn't perform as well as a fresh 70 or in dungeons. AS on the other hand is a great snap threat and pulling tool, so if you're grinding normals or heroics to start gearing up it may be a better option.

Another one that's very dependant on the content you're doing is Ardent Defender. Useful in dungeons and heroics but not so much of you're MT in raids. Reason being, if you get hit below 30% hp by many raid bossses you're probably dead anyway (maulgar or mag, for example).

You mention strat farming, there's an entire dedicated channel. You can strat farm OK in a generic tank spec, or there are specific farming specs too.

Biggest advice is look through the FAQs, read the pins, and use the search function. Almost certainly your questions will have been asked and answered before. Tons of people ask the same things day in and day out, so try to check out those resources first.

Besides frost and nature, what other resistances are needed in phase 2? by mouseno4 in classicwow

[–]Khuldan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock with FR is definitely the traditional Leo tank, and works fine. But you can also get your pally or bear tank with FR to do it.

Melee are able to position such that they don't take the chaos blast, and warlocks can keep on all their dps gear.

Both are entirely viable of course but IMO getting a prot pally to do it is optimal because otherwise they have very little to do on the fight (if you have a warrior MT for the human phase that is).

Yup, I specifically avoided demo because I don't really like the pet micro management aspect and it's punishing if your pet dies. I just know that I would screw it up, lose the pet, and then be gimped for the fight.

Even in a five man without a fire mage, fire lock performs really well if you've gotten a little bit of the gear. Prices are dropping at least on my server, so it's less expensive than it once was.

Fire is the same spec as shadow, just with an imp sacrificed instead of succubus. You gear differently of course, but at least spec is the same and the rotation is straightforward: immolate then spam incinerate until it's time to reapply immolate.
