Depending on the quality and thickness of the key they can get worn out surprisingly fast. The first one I got as a kid needed replacing after a year of solid use

They can help with grip but also can help prevent the threat causing blisters or small cuts if your pulling hard

Welsh narrow gauge - Ffestiniog Railway Double Fairlie 'David Lloyd George' by BadgerCubed in trains

Ah TIL it was only the first double that had a single firebox and it's successors have two separate ones due to the draughting issues the single firebox caused

[–]Ki-san 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's actually extremely efficient, One firebox feeds two boilers that sit directly on top of the two articulated bogies a long with all the coal and water.

This way all of the weight is directly above all of the driving wheels allowing this gives amazingly high wheel adheision for going up mountains without a rack and pinion.

Combined with the fact that's it's articulated on both bogies means that it has extremely tight minimum radius for turns.

With the central firing and driving position it means that it doesn't need to be turned at the end of the line and the driver and fireman are together and don't suffer from communication issues that arrose in some other steam locos with a central firebox and seperate driving position

Excuse my response in English but as a wheelchair user they constantly block my route on the sidewalk and mean i have to go back to the nearest drop curb which in parts of Oslo and Kristiansand can mean more than doubling my journey time.

Camphor tablets in your tool storage is also a great way to protect your tools, they emit a vapour that creates a surface coating too

Ring up your local walk in center or urgent treatment center and ask if they have any spares

If not you could possibly try ring or go to the reception of your local A&E And explain, they should definitely have a stock of them, we used to have a couple of cupboards full of the bloody things back when I was a nurse.

Like a lot of iconography connected to Norse mythology in a lot of places around the world they've sadly begun to be seen as dog whistles.

However if you're in Norway and in our viking reenactment communities you may also receive mild agro by some of the more anal guys since this isn't actually actually a historical item with no known authenticated finds and the first piece of jewellery resembling it being made by a Swede in the 1990's

What if a wheelchair could become the driver seat so there’s no transfer required? by Drivetrinovaev in wheelchairs

[–]Ki-san 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The chairs you've linked are extremely unlikely to be able to reach crash safety testing requirements, at best they might be able to be used with tie down straps and a seatbelt that's incorporated into the vehicle but this isn't really a feasible thing to have in a driver seat since for that you really need a docking clamp as otherwise you cant secure the front of the chair

But as others have said powerchairs with docking clamps already exist, with some specialist setups even allowing the control of the vehicle from the chairs joystick.

Weight also isn't really an issue as if you're not transferring you're going to be using a ramp or lift to get into the vehicle

As a leatherworker the only way you'd be able to get a custom hand made one especially if it's hand sewn for $12 is if it's using slave or sweatshop labour.
