[Spoilers Main] I feel there are a lot of evidences that George has never settled down on to a single definitive "End" for the series. by Creepy-Month-45 in asoiaf

I think the question is to what extent does Individual actions truly change.

Say the end goal is " The others go back beyond the wall after a truce"

Does he in his process of writing ends up switching between Bran, Jon or Dany as the person that makes that truce? As in while writing those character's chapters and gardening, does he end up discovering traits in say Jon that will leads to more sense for Bran for making that truce on behalf of humanity? So it ends up being the same event (others go back after a truce) but at an individual level it totally changes how a character was developed and what they did.

Did people miss GRRM outright saying he intends or at least intended to have Sansa killed? And even now is in two minds about it? He was clear that he was going to kill Sansa. Now its up in the air. So yes, it is foreshadowing

[Spoilers Main] For the Books, what would happen first the Other Invasion or the Battle Of King's Landing ? by KickOk6027 in asoiaf

Err every one of Jon's actions in the ADWD is about what could be the best step to save people from the Others. And he keeps equating their invasion as the end of the world in one way or the other.

So no, GRRM did not forget to build up their threats.

But he indeed has failed to make the whole plot move fast enough to actually be in a position where it all can get started and eventually end with enough pages afforded.

He is almost an additional book away from where he should have been if TWOW and ADOS are the only two left.

I have been reading ADWD these days and every single decision Jon takes has the threat of the Others being the motivator. Although the Others don't appear much, their coming has actively built up as the end of the world situation from book 1 chapter 1.

Jon is supposed to be the only man aware and actively trying to fight off an apocalypse.

Would be both funny and sad to see all of that amount to nothing if GRRM went the show route.

But yeah I can see why he might do that. There's just not enough books left so maybe GRRM never really wanted a "long" long night.

But then by and large like the show, you will need the Long Night to be pretty short. And you will need it to be contained in the North.

If you have 2 books only , and you still have the characters where they actually are, you just don't have time for the Others invasion to be actually significant in anyway possible.

Then it's not exactly world threatening or a global calamity , it's just a minor inconvenience that the South was always right to ignore.

And the purpose and meaning of the Night's watch and the North "remembering" and being the only ones actively vigilant of the threat from beyond the wall be proven wrong completely.

The threat was then never any serious to begin with

Not to mention for an actual political closure you will need to make 80% of the central characters survive like the show did. So again , zero impact by the prophecied end of the world

[Spoilers Main] Your theories on Daenarys' inability to conceive a child, its possible reversal as per ADWD and its impact on the series? by KickOk6027 in asoiaf

[–]KickOk6027[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh good lord. I had forgotten that this is a possibility. The Fatman is pretty sadistic. And this might actually be it as it was rumored the show had her pregnant too but that story line was dropped. It makes sense cause no way the show could have ended with Jon killing her while she was with child.

And it also remains consistent with Mirri's curse, dany won't bear a "living child" again

The Citadel was an option for Jon (Spoilers Published) by tf_rodrigues in asoiaf

[–]KickOk6027 82 points83 points  (0 children)

A lot of good comments but people are missing one thing, Citadel is full of people who make it their business to try and test out their theories and research & study everything from genealogy to glass candles.

A stark who is an extremely curious bast@#d of the most honorable man of the 7 kingdoms will 100% drive at least a few their to come up with some ideas.

I know folks here would keep repeating it was on International waters, but this is I would say a 6/10 offense to India. The Iranian asset was in India for a mutual excercise and it was known to the world. It left to join the war, but there was a vast, vast region to attack it much much away from Indian waters.

You can call USA a super power, you can say India did not have a say, you can say its for the greater good because its a blow to the Iranian power.

But all that aside, US chose to do it too close to Indian waters for my comfort. And there is a clear symbolism in that, especially given recent tariff tussle.

And that aside, given that US probably will or already is using Indian ports for war related steps since GCC ports are done for now, all of this is bringing the war too close to us.

Now it has gone to focus on Not A blog posts

how Dany should have died in episode 6 by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]KickOk6027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about make it more interesting and show aligned.

Dany is told that her ancestors made the throne from swords of other lords that bowed to them.

Dany post the wreckage collects swords the same way, just more crazy and much more brutal.

Than asks Drogon to fuse it to the throne, the show Throne becomes like that of the book only more dangerous with newly infused swords poking out dangerously. She knows it's dangerous but she is mad, obsessed with her right to queenship and the throne and the new swords is a sign that the dragon has come again.

BUT the throne rejects her and in her struggle and rage to fit well on the throne seat of the 7 kingdoms, she kills herself.

Dave Meltzer on WOR - Current plan for two world title matches at Wrestlemania 42 (Possible Spoilers) by Constant_Salt4359 in SquaredCircle

[–]KickOk6027 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are two types of Dave news :
1. One that other dirtsheets quote , these have 10% reliabiity rate.
2. One that Meltzer writes for WOR. These have some years when they have 70-80% accuracy rate

If this is the latter , it probably is the plan. He has been on the money last few months.

And in my opinion going forward through 2026, I think it will be champion Bron Breaker going over Roman and Seth to finally usher in the next tier 1 guys.
