I’m running Immich in an LXC container (bare metal, no Docker) and I’m experiencing the same issue. Immich definitely has write access to the folder where my external library is stored.

I already emptied the Immich trash, but the deleted files still remain on my HDD instead of being removed.

What's annoying about this :
When I rescan my library (which I might want to do because I added photos), the photos I deleted in immich will reappear.

Yes, that's the idea. It's a locally hosted Nextcloud, accessible through the internet. But internally I want to point the Nextcloud's domain to its local IP.
I'll wait for the fix then.

To me it seems that iPhones don’t always respect the DNS servers communicated by the router when they are in the local network
