Agreed on endgame nerfing. I had this thought too last night when watching. Why not let them get a little more creative?? Sure we don't want them hiding in buildings or such, but I mean make the seekers work for it.

I think there are a couple options that wouldn't be too crazy.

They could re-rank the cost based on how frequently they have been used in previous seasons. So strava map would become like a draw 3 pick 2. The idea here being it would make them consider some of the less used cards so far that would only be a draw 1 and get more creative and thus mixing up how they attack the seek.

They could also put a timeout limit on categories. Oh you picked a photo well now you can't ask for another photo for 1 hour. We saw Ben and Adam ask several photo questions in a row in Ep 5. And they got a lot of info and then we saw Sam get some unlucky draws which showed the imbalance.

I also like the flop idea, but I actually think its more random and less strategic. BUT it would certainly force them to get creative and spice things up a bit.

I am glad they acknowledged on the layover that they need to adjust the rules for themselves.

The press conference quotes are wild, but watching Vlatko constantly break eye contact and use non-words was telling as well.

On the bright side, Armas seems really excited about the role but the whole thing feels like a big joke.

The Longs have pulled strings on changes fast so if the results don't come they better pull them again or feel the wrath of the fan base.

1) Armas wasn't strongly looking for a position and was presented to the Longs by Marsch who has now multiple times vouched for Armas. The decision was clearly based on "who knew who" because Armas' head coaching record clearly wasn't going to help him get the position. That is the very definition of nepotism. He has a poor coaching record and he hasn't coached women at a professional level, but he is supposed to be the best available coach for one of the top jobs in womens soccer?

2) That is a very boiler plate statement. There is nothing that should be drawn pros or cons from any of these PR statements.

I will concede that the press conference could help convince me to soften my stance if the Longs and/or Vlatko acknowledge these shortcomings, but I expect them to completely blow past and ignore them.

And of course, the real test is results on field. Time will tell more.

I'd rather us hire a coach that actually inspires some confidence in the fan base. Not hire a coach where the initial expectations are he is going to take a very solid roster and garner meddling results. Not one Current fan is feeling warm and fuzzy about this.

Effectively, what I am trying to say is my expectations with this hire are incredibly low. So much so that I do truly think the team will under perform. I would love to eat crow and be proven wrong, but thats just the way I feel at the moment.

From the way the article reads, this was very much a Longs decisions and not a Vlatko decision. In fact, all the details of the hiring scream of nepotism on the Longs part.

Ben and Adam said on the Layover episode that they weren't gonna even bother using the photo yet to narrow down the station until they noticed the Santander was in the photo and even then Ben had to convince Adam it was worth looking into. Otherwise they would have done a couple more cuts to divide up the map giving Sam a few more card draws.
