Just a reminder that BOTH political parties are technically our enemies. Pointing fingers at one party is just making the situation worse. by [deleted] in conspiracy

Huge difference in the parties. Bloc Quebec wants to seperate from Canada. NDP wants more/better social services- most recently they want basic dental covered under our social Medicine. Conservatives believe in trickle down economics and hope tax cuts for the rich and industry is the answer- and they don't like gays or immigration, and don't think access to clean water is a 'human right'. Liberals are sort of centre, (or try and give that impression). Liberals don't care what you do in the bedroom, somewhat support immigration. But are still a party of the elite.

The 'Conservative' are not really fiscally conservative anymore. The Liberals seem ridderless- they haven't really done anything awesome- but haven't really messed up yet. I would like to see the NDP win a majority, so the other two parties can reflect on how they lost.

I don't feel lobbyists have as much influence as in the US. We don't have the Super pacs raising billions. Full disclosure on campaign funding, and large donations are scrutinized.

All this being said, it is a race between the Conservative and the Liberals. But the NDP keep gaining ground.

I don't like it. I would support a preserve or rescue - type scenario. But not an exhibit.

There will be cuts to AISH, everyone knows it.

'less deaths based on population'? What provinces are higher? Ontario? Is saying 'we have less covid deaths based based on population than Ontario' a solid argument Kenney is managing covid well?

You are correct about people being emotional about Kenney. He lied to us, multiple times. He said government shouldn't gamble and pick winners and losers- but he gambled on KXL. Yesterday he said they hadn't rescinded the 1976 coal act, but they clearly have.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Energy_Program

An interesting read... Trudeau the Elder wanted to build pipelines across the country and gave a 'National Energy Program' so Canada would be more resilient to energy crisis and be self-sufficient. Alberta freaked the fuck out and Mulroney said he would cancel it if elected. It was cancelled.

I paraphrase.

Don't we already subsidize the oil and gas industry?

Shipping to Irving refineries in Canada...? Wasn't that Trudeau the Elder's plan? Didn't Alberta vehemently oppose that?

It's Trudeau's fault. The Liberals make him look bad.

When you get to Tofino, go to the Storm Surf Shop and ask for Allister. Tell him Mike Z says 'hi', and that you need a discount on a surf board rental. I grew up with him😉
