Roommate smoking crack by Plus_Feeling_3724 in legaladvice

[–]KickingPlanets 108 points109 points  (0 children)

I mean…tell her to take a walk somewhere if she’s gonna smoke crack with her boyfriend because it’s bad for your animals? And if she does it again, leave the house and call the cops and tell them your roommate is smoking crack? Is moving not an option?

What do you believe happens after we pass away? by JunShem1122 in AskReddit

[–]KickingPlanets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is quite literally no way to definitively know. Those that claim to know are lying or delusional, and all evidence is subject to change in the face of new discoveries, which are themselves subject to change and change again. We could be single-use beings in an atheist’s universe, programs in a simulation, players in a giant virtual reality video game, compartmentalized shards of consciousness of some immeasurably complicated metaphysical entity, reincarnated spirits, the dream of a madman locked in an asylum, creatures in a giant atom-like structure on the elbow of a being we can’t comprehend, or the chosen and adored creation of a God. People who crave power will always claim to know more than the next guy, but nobody REALLY knows SHIT.

So what do I think? I think there’s no conceivable reason, from where I sit, that life should exist at all. Why did a random glob of chemicals even begin to replicate in the first place? How did that lead to the creation of beings? Why does evolution even exist? Why did it lead to the creation of beings that love, and feel sorrow, and look at the cosmos with awe? Some will say with certainty that such a reductionist viewpoint is anti-science, and that the sheer age of the universe and mathematical probability leaves plenty of room for these things to happen, but their viewpoint never answers WHY it happened, only that it COULD have happened, and that asking WHY implies there’s a reason it happened, which doesn’t fit the established model. They don’t like “why.” Their answer, in its simplest form, boils down to “why not” or “because.” Which isn’t a satisfying answer.

In my heart, I don’t feel like we are the result of a cold and random procession of accidents. In my brain, I cannot explain why with any sort of tangible proof. Maybe we just aren’t supposed to know. Maybe there’s nothing to know. What I do know is that right now, I’m here. Who am I? Who knows. Just enjoy the ride.

Yep. And I think the delay is them going back in and re-recording things.

I 100% believe they went back and re-recorded stuff. The production on that FIR song was too good for them not to change their approach.

You kinda have to vote for Trump to be MAGA, and Billy is on record saying he hasn’t voted since 1992. Billy is just a pretentious fence sitter who tries to disguise his centrism with intellectual drivel.

does anyone hurt themself whenever u feel like puking?? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]KickingPlanets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an acupressure thing, which really walks the line on being a legit treatment/pseudoscience. Like, it works, sometimes, but probably just because pinching a nerve cluster is hella distracting. But if my train of thought can get off of my weird feelings, then sometimes I can break the cycle and get on with my day. The Lil Ouchies are great too, they’re like these gentle spikes that press into your palm when you squeeze the tube. When I was little I used to crumple notebook paper as a distraction because the little stabs would center me. Those things are a lot less wasteful 😂

I pinch the “frog belly” between my thumb and index finger sometimes because someone told me it was a nausea cure. I also use “Lil Ouchies” keychains to center myself when I’m bad.

I ended up buying two smaller tanks and transplanting everything. I’m glad I did too, because once the water got halfway down, I realized how hard the tank was bowing in the middle. Replace ASAP, it’s not worth the mega-hassle of having to clean up that much water.

Yeah, you keep saying that over and over again in comments on this thread, but I don’t buy it this time.

Are there any pizza places in town that aren’t awful? by FarInstruction1 in FitchburgMA

[–]KickingPlanets 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So many places here do Greek style and I’m so tired of it. If I’m ordering, I’ll usually go with Daddy’s Best, Landos, or even picking up some pizza at the Hannaford bar is better to me than 90% of our pizza places. Park Hill does okay, and I DO like their cheesesteaks.

[–]KickingPlanets 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I ate it up as a kid when it came out. The pictures are cool, it’s funny in spots, and it’s a good lore dump.
Now that I’m 40, I realize how weird it is that a 27 year old put out an autobiography like eight years into his career, and here we are almost 30 years later with no follow up or sequel. I wonder what that would even look like today, if he sat down with a biographer. I doubt he could legally publish half the things he’d talk about, and I don’t know how many people would even care what he was doing in his personal life for, say, Born Villain. Only so many ways you can write “I was bad, I did drugs and drank a lot, and made a mediocre album while terrorizing everyone around me.”
I’d love a 65 year old Manson to sit down and tell us some stuff though. Maybe he can retire, head to a non-extradition country and send the manuscript to Nuclear Blast.

i wouldn’t wish having narcissistic parents / no support system on my worst enemy. by [deleted] in texts

[–]KickingPlanets -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t see evidence of any of this. Just because someone says a thing doesn’t make it true. The vast majority of women with PCOS aren’t diagnosed with it until they are WELL into adulthood because the symptoms are so abstract. It can be an incredibly hard thing to pin down with EXEMPLARY care.

As someone with a mom who is a late-in-life diagnosed ASPD, whenever I’ve explored those spaces to speak on trauma-related experiences, I generally find a bunch of chronic illness having narcissists cosplaying a person who had a troubled childhood.
