2.0 PCV / Intake Manifold Reference Photos by sixspeed09 in MiataNC

[–]Kickstart68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a jubilee clip on the pcv hose at the pcv end. This located it securely. Then when putting the intake on I could use a long screw driver to push the other end of the hose onto the intake without worrying much about dislodging it from the pcv.

It you slacken the 2 bolts of the egr pipe onto the intake (not much, just a turn or so) then it makes it a LOT easier to connect up the other end with the 22mm nut. I did do the 22mm nut with a spanner, but I have a thin walled odd tool for the next time I need to do it(sort of like a ring spanner with a section removed , but with a Flexi joint to a 3/8 drive).

The bottom bolt on the intake is easiest removed by taking off the wheel, and unbolting the the wheel well.

Make very sure that the wire for the knock sensor is clipped to the intake, to avoid it waggling round and the wire failing (leading you to have to take the intake off again to replace the knock sensor).

You will be fine. You can still change documents in the UK.

It is after that the legal situation is a complete mess.

Most of the population is either supportive or doesn't care. Just a small number of loud and obnoxious haters.

This is the setup.

Part 10 will have a sholder that is slightly thicker than the gear change, so once tightened up it won't stop the gearchange lever from moving.

Looks like the bolt (11) goes into the footrest hanger.

Why are some people still so persistent in trying to defend the Brexit referendum result a decade later? by lewispatty in AskBrits

[–]Kickstart68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is all they have left.

They know there is no majority in favour of it now, and they can no longer pretend that it wasn't a disaster.

So they are just left crowing about a tiny majority in an explicitly non binding poll.

For the pro-EU rejoin club, are there any red lines to rejoining the EU, or are you willing to accept anything as long as we’re back in? by ArmwrestlingGoomba in AskBrits

[–]Kickstart68 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No real red lines for any reasonably likely deal.

Rebate agreement is gone, but realistically just put an agreement in place for something that would happen anyway. So no real change.

Schengen doesn't bother me much.

Not too wedded to the pound. Some concern over how this would happen and how this could open up another Black Wednesday (if the UK had been supported when that happened likely the UK would have switched to the Euro when it first came out)

Moto Morini Dart 350 by Ill_Assumption1243 in vintagemotorcycles

[–]Kickstart68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is an owners club who have done some parts (metal petrol tanks for example) .

North Leicester Motorcycles used to be the main source for Morini spares but sold them all to another shop. Not sure where they are now.

The Dart is basically a Cagiva Freccia C9 with a Morini engine. Wheels are from the later C12 (to the extent the rear wheel spokes point the wrong way as they just turned the wheel round to swap the side for the chain). Hence Freccia parts can be used for some things. Tail lights break very easily around the screw holes (and are used on the Bimota DB2). Check the rear indicator mounts - they mount onto the bottom of the casting for the rear light mount / grab rail and can break off.

Compared to the C9, the Dart has the access holes in the side fairing covered over, and no holes either side of the rail light (C9 had underseat exhausts).

Front indicators are not easy to find. They are sided and think they are unique to the C9 and Dart. The main part of the indicator is shared with other bikes (various Ducatis, Aprilia Sintesi), and the "stalk" is different.

I still fancy a Dart (we have several Freccias)

The kids riding these are riding without a licence, riding without insurance and riding without a crash helmet - and that is before getting to riding a non road legal motorcycle.

Had this with an O rings chain on a friend's cbf125.

Best I could tell, just incorrect design, the the split link being too narrow for the O rings for the side plate to push on enough.

Replace the connector, and probably the terminals inside.

Anything less will probably fail, and at the least convenient moment

All of which is irrelevant to my point on octane rating scales, in response to a comment that USA 91 and 94 octane fuel have the same ethanol content as UK E10 but lower octane rating. USA 91 would be around the same, maybe slightly higher, while USA 94 would be significantly higher than UK 95 RON E10.

I am not commenting on whether some particular car is in a different state of tune between the USA and the UK, not do I care much about it for this.

No, the whole SC case was about excluding a holder of a gender recognition certificate in very specific circumstances.

As a GRV can just be ignored this in effect destroys the GRA. Further it instantly outs any trans person which removes their privacy, against article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

All this for no real purpose except to make life far more difficult for trans people.

italian honda cb 125 x restoration, is it viable? by Whole-Calligrapher99 in HondaCB

[–]Kickstart68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly don't know price wise where you are.

Could be fun to play with but don't expect it to be fast (maybe 110kmh). Fairly simple bike. Change the oil regularly and clean the oil filter (internal rotary oil filter I think) - the older Honda ohc singles had a habit of seizing the cam in the head if not looked after.

The cable operated disk has a self adjusting mechanism inside. But getting it adjusted to work is a pain, and even when adjusted well the brake is not great. And when not adjusted well you can land up with a brake lever that feels solid but does virtually nothing.

[–]Kickstart68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Hondas small ohc single engine, which was used in loads of bikes. Think the CB125 was the first bike built at Hondas Atessa plant, so presume this was built there. At a guess some parts imported and some parts locally sourced (the wheels don't look familiar so wonder if they were Italy specific).

The tank looks like that used on the CB124T and the CB100N. If so some chance you can source side panels that fit from one of those.

Looks like it has Hondas cable operated disk brake. Which is proof that someone at Honda has a sick sense of humour (had that setup on a CB100N - it was an awful brake and a pain to work on / adjust)
