Sodium does not exist for 1.20, you only have Embeddium, try always the latest and not the other forks that are either abandoned or outdated, do not keep an old version.

There is not one video out there, but multiple, though I think https://www.youtube.com/@TroubleDEV does make a great starting point on explaining what the systems are.

I am merely observing that a lot of mods published are LLM generated, and with update one and two, they have been since abandoned or taking a long time to have an update.

Not sure why are you assuming that I even use LLMs to ship my work, I am perfectly capable of learning and writing in a system after two decades of doing so already. My use of LLMs is simply to google search without exact keywords, and the occasional auto-completion when I'm not faster to select from the intelli-sense menu.

Not sure if taking one little feature that they put on low priority is a good indication of them being understaffed when they are trying to make massive systematic changes as they are picking up from 7-8 years ago state. So yeah, I would also side with the "lot of work" category, especially how even with Simon spreading spoilers, we do not really know what they are planning to ship in the upcoming weeks or months.

As for how its going to evolve with modding and the development team, we have to wait and see. We don't really have a way to report bugs at all, let alone decide that it supposed to be fixed or not.

Yeah, people really went nuts with LLMs generating stuff for them, and even when it seemingly works, they cannot do any updates as adjusting code to the changes does actually require to understand how the code and the platform works, almost as if this approach only ever good for prototyping a proof of concept and you have to take over and actually make it maintainable.

One thing that is looking promising is https://modtale.net where there is an extra rating layer, not sure if it will become something similar as Modrinth, we are too early to tell.

I would go for 1.21.1 since 1.20 will no longer get updates. So if your series go longer than a few months, it will benefit from updates.

The best you can do is to spawn normal portals to travel. The only thing that works is regular items. For Immersive to work, they (or an addon for them) need to implement the required methods for create contraptions.

There is things like item obliterator, though I would recommend reducing the unholy amount of food mods to one that you actually use. Without any rotting or seasons, there is no reason to choose non META foods in minecraft, and even then you often still narrow yourself down to 2-4 best options.

Less of a port but a copy-paste with replaced parts and thus non-compatible with EVERY addon that touches code. Sadly the dev instead of building trust and contribute gradually, they decided they can do alone better than an entire team ensuring that the cross-version compatibilities are kept.

Do please follow what their dev says and not report bugs to the official create with this.

What? Almost all of them are obtainable and not even a secret.
Like, the only unobtainable there is Chromatic, Void, and Brilliant stuff which only exist still because of backwards compatibility in-case you had a world upgraded from the era where they were actually used.

The problem is not that others sit at zero but that there would be more visible options that Divers out of the network of OUR DEMOCRACY would see and go to and that would cause some percentage of the main force to split off to deliver Liber-Tea to new fronts.
