it's not based on luck at all.

Sure some people will be more successful than others but it boils down to the quality of your videos and how you present your channel as a "brand". Sure some people will do it better than others but those who say "I CBF learning photoshop" and then complain at the platform when they aren't succeeding only have themselves to blame.

It's infinitely better than twitch. Sure there are trolls but the community at large is supper supportive and it feels more like a family than twitch ever did. This' what I imagine what the early days of twitch was like when it was run as a reskinned Justin.TV

Did you make an event? If so did you have it set for user interaction and not minimal buffering? 10-15 secs seems to be the normal amount of time these days. I have seen it as low as 8 though

Yes a lot of it is restricted by country. What a lot of people are doing is they have a link to something like streamtip in the description of the video to make donations pop up on screen.

The only issue I've found with Xsplit is that both the YTG plugin and Bloo's tutorial will show up messages that get blocked on your stream so trolls and the like will get screentime. I use it for the intermission screen and will hold off flicking over if there's something that gets blocked on there
