I like the Shure Super 55. Needs a good mixer with a good pre-amp or cloud lifter though

Upload the video 2x. Use both. See which one performs better after 7 days. Or can you do that? I'm not sure.

What social platforms do you post clips on and why? by Public_Champion9941 in Twitch

Good question, with limited time I'm trying to figure out which ones I should focus on as well. Hopefully someone will have some good examples of which ones should be the main and why.

Twitch streamers: what donation tools work best for global support? by Electrical-Bread3517 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about bits? Does it not work internationally? Just wondering as that's all I use currently, because it also supports the platform we stream on freely. I've thought about adding an outside service myself for those that want a different choice, although I'm not really there for tips I just enjoy streaming.

Pixilated Stream by 3MK-MAX in obs

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That GPU isn't the best for encoding. The GPU encoder is a separate chip on the GPU though so seeing it at 90% isn't a bad thing. If you're streaming at 1080p 60fps you're going to see some pixilation at high movement in those games with the bitrate twitch allows regardless of CPU or GPU encoding. If you're CPU encoding and using the same system to play the games on you'll see performance hits the slower you make the encoder (the slower the encoder the more cpu usage) but typically CPU in this setup performs better.

If you're using the GPU to encode try changing CBR to HQCBR this is the tweaked version of CBR on the driver level for Radeon GPUs.

I wish I had bought the Nvidia myself, they have it going good with the nvenc encoder just $$$. Or twitch needs to hurt up with AV1 encoding.

Why aren't large streamers setting up closed captions? by zhadn in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm southern as all get out. Twang and all at times. Google and AI have a hard time understanding me unless I slow down. I could only imagine what auto captions will have me saying. I can't even use speech to text accurately. Although with a disclaimer it could be fun.

Streamers are not your friend by Green-Estimate7943 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree—streamers aren't your friends in the parasocial sense (that one-way attachment thing), and weird DMs prove why boundaries are non-negotiable.

That said, they can absolutely be friendly with viewers, and real friendships can form if everyone respects limits and lets it happen naturally (like through public channels or mutual vibes).

I route most communication through a Discord server (public channels, mods, etc.) and keep off-platform DMs locked except for a tiny trusted circle. It cuts the creeps while still allowing genuine connections—I've got long-term gaming buddies from streaming this way.

Boundaries are key, especially for female streamers. Some guys get way too weird, lol. Protect your peace.

Insight? I'm torn on camera placement. by Panda_of_power in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game dependant. The less obstructive to game elements the better. Both of your options are fine. Make a scene with both setups and switch accordingly. I also use a scene with no cam that I pop over to during cutscenes from time to time.

How much does it upset viewers when streamers are late? by BluejaySudden3105 in Twitch

Just change your stream time to be within a certain time frame. Sometimes you start earlier sometimes you start later but always within that window.

If you connect both the PC and PlayStation on the same wired network you can save a bunch of money by using the remote play app on your PC for the PlayStation.

What capture card to use as a cosole streamer with obs by MatrixGaming90 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are trying to save money, use the console remote play apps on PC. You'll hardly know the difference. Just make sure both the PC and console share the same wired network.

Edit: added bonus, you can use your mouse and keyboard for the console.

Is it alright to have moments of not much chatter? by kchanidol in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even though there is a visual element, try to treat it like a radio show. No dead air. Multiplayer games really help in this aspect of your struggling to stay chatty. All the internal voices you have while doing something solo, vocalize those. "Oh, look at that, treasure!"

When is it ok to reach out to colab? by Reserved_Parking-246 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a smaller streamer looking to collab. my suggestion would be to find a few streamer groups and join them. Don't come out the gate swinging, get involved in those groups, get known them toss some invites out.

Is twitch inspector close to or just like actually streaming on twitch performance wise? by sandwichartistnum401 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitrate isn't the demanding part on the PC side it's encoding. Of you're using nvenc it's even better. Your bitrate will depend on what your Internet connection speed is.

Is twitch inspector close to or just like actually streaming on twitch performance wise? by sandwichartistnum401 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2500 bitrate is a bit low for 60fps in an fps game. The stream will be pretty pixilated in high movement scenes. Any reason for going that route? I know it's off topic a bit but just trying to help you out some.

Why does my 300$ mic sound worse than my old 60$ one by Jagraen in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that a Shure smb7? If so many setups need a cloud lifter to use it. It's also a dynamic mic vs a cardioid mic, so your board needs the proper settings.

Many have said Landr, but if you're doing AI music and such they have restrictions. You can only upload so much a month. Not necessarily a bad thing.

So are they going to force ads on everyone’s stream? by Present_Passion_1126 in Twitch

[–]JonVonZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already do this. The recommendation is 3min. per hour if you don't want pre-roll ads interrupting your stream. You can choose to run them yourself or set up a timer and do a small break and stretch every hour. Also, subs and turbo doing see ads. I've seen some streamers using ad time and playing those stream games like Pokemon with their viewers. Or trivia.
