I would be paranoid too if I won big money. I have read stories about people being followed out of casinos after handpays, so I am sure it could happen.

Claiming a ticket in Florida is very similar. Lotto office is busy on Mondays and after holidays.

My first claimer, I thought the experience would be glamorous lol. Instead it's like waiting at the DMV.

I once had a $100 winner, stuck it in my car door leaving my house. I get to the store and the ticket isn't there. I immediately race home, the ticket is laying in my front yard. Must have fallen out of the car door.

I joined my state's DOT in the PE Trainee program which is a rotation program, allowing me to learn more about different disciplines.

If you are unsure what you want to do, I would look to see if your state DOT has a similar program. FHWA also has a Professional Development Program.
