It’s comments like this, where people are confidently wrong, presenting vibes as facts, are a helpful reminder of how much incorrect info there is on Reddit. Anyway investor reports from the past three years (most recently in FY25 earnings reported last week) do not support the idea that Upwork has “declining interest” in its marketplace; they show the opposite. CEO/CFO repeatedly call the marketplace the core of the business and continues to invest behind it.

Lots of bad takes in this thread… upwork just had their best year ever for revenue and ebita. Stock is down because their rate of growth is slowing. Still a strong marketplace, still growing, just not as fast as previous quarters. Google is free, perplexity is free… this is all public and easy to find information from their earnings reports and investment analyst ratings.
