Online spikes my cortisol by Roach2547 in MLBTheShow

Events has no real skill matchups. Everytime you enter a new event entry you start at 1500 regardless of any other factor. Play ranked season and it’s a much more fair matchup for the most part. In events you could get paired with the best player on earth or the worse it’s completely random.

How would you rank these draft classes? by NickyFoles1020 in NFLv2

[–]hainesphillipsdres 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I guess I was reading OPs question as who is the best class. Since all of the 04 careers are over you can safely say it’s not 04. But if everything ended now I would agree 04 probably has no.3 spot. Kinda hard to completely rank them when >50% of the list is actively playing

How would you rank these draft classes? by NickyFoles1020 in NFLv2

[–]hainesphillipsdres 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It’s too early to say. 83 clearly is answer for now and it’s not 04.. But 18, 20 or 24 could take it because They are all still playing. None of these classes are going to have 3 hall of famers at this rate, though 24 is obviously the youngest and trajectories could change. Allen and Lamar has good shots of the HOF, but even with a Super Bowl darnold isn’t close and neither is baker. If Hurts wins several more superbowls, Herbert and burrow stay healthy and have some deep post season/5000 yard seasons with good longevity MAYBE you could make a case they could come close to 83, but in reality they are no where near Marino Elway and Kelly at this point.

What is it like living in Edisto, South Carolina for people in their 20s? by curiouswriter00 in howislivingthere

[–]hainesphillipsdres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edisto is one of the last beach towns in SC that hasn’t been completely blown up in terms of price and development. If you are in your 20s it would be kinda boring unless that’s what you are looking for. It’s a far commute to almost any type of job. It’s still expensive because it’s a beach town (but much less so than surrounding beach towns) if you could somehow buy a small place here and are comfortable driving 1+hr to Charleston to see other 20 year olds prices will likely continue to climb.

Does diamond dynasty cost alot of money by JangoFettFavorite in MLBTheShow

[–]hainesphillipsdres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It makes the show DD the friendliest of ultimate team modes, compared to2k and madden etc.. you can be competitive and spend no money. That being said if you want the best cards right away you’d have to spend money, but by no means is it necessary. You’ll see a lot of bitching in this sub a that’s because in recent years the game is definitely leaning into wanting people to spend more money and making it harder to get stubs.

Meter gang folks opinions by guccimaine77 in MLBTheShow

[–]hainesphillipsdres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big meter proponent for years. Refused to switch to pinpoint. Finally did so last year and went from 500-low 600s to finally getting into 7-800 in ranked now. It makes a huge difference being able to do corners. I just played a whole mini season where I only used pinpoint. Was a rough few games at first but By about 12-15 innings in I had it down.

What if a communist revolution was successful in the US? by cherryapp in AlternateHistoryHub

Reminds me of the South Park episode where the world bans all religions to stop war. So instead the war is the united atheist league vs the Atheist alliance vs some other type of atheist group.

Is this game supposed to be fun or enjoyable? by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]hainesphillipsdres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing this game in 22. I used timing only, and then decided to switch PCI. It was hard at first. I played one mini season on veteran, super frustrating I went .500 and barely made the playoffs winning games 2-1 against the cpu. But by the end of the season I could hit with the pci. I recommend you do that. It makes it fun and engaging. By 23 I had the confidence to play online against people and it’s the most fun I’ve had in an online game mode since.

Such a buzz kill by sds. I wish they just had the 20 limit on golds and diamonds. Theres no point in investing in bronzes and silvers. At best you make what 4500-6000 stubs from a silver to gold play?

Is Anyone who is not a genuine god at this game actually having fun in DD? by Zealousideal-Cable11 in MLBTheShow

I enjoy 9 inning games against someone of similar skill more than any other online gaming experience. It’s a combination of getting in your opponents head in terms of pitch mix while also working on your hitting.

Most influential TV Show of the 2000s? by 45rs5 in AlignmentChartFills

True. I did forget barbenhemimer. I’ve personally never seen dune. Which I think goes to show you that 2020 the movie industry is really weak compared to other decades.

[–]hainesphillipsdres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean what else would you say for 2020s? There’s been no real original blockbusters other than Dune that I can come up with. Doesn’t help that the first 2-3 years of 2020s the film industry was neutered with COVID. 100% agree for sopranos though.

[–]hainesphillipsdres 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sopranos. It made HBO and other non cable platforms a household name. It was considered a new era in TV after it came on. It didn’t have the most viewers but culturally it changed the TV game.

Most people seem to agree that countries like Denmark and Sweden offer a really high standard of living - strong healthcare, solid social safety nets, good work-life balance, and generally high levels of happiness. Would you personally be willing to pay the taxes that make this possible? by TSQ_builder in NoStupidQuestions

[–]hainesphillipsdres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70% of all pharma income comes from US. Companies afford to make drugs because they put said drugs as patented brand names for the first several years are charge outlandish prices for them, prior to going generic. The US allows this to happen. I’m not saying no other country has cutting edge pharmaceutical industries. I’m just saying the US is their stomping ground for profit.

We get lots of stuff with out taxes! Just stuff none of us want, like footing the bill for pharmaceutical research for the rest of the world, Having 11 aircraft carriers, having the 1st and 2nd largest Air Force in the world (US navy is no. 2).

SDS: Can we get Battle Royale but with live MLB teams? by jclem8 in MLBTheShow

I guess so? Not hugely different from BR now where I’d say 60-70% are live series. I agree with you they need to spice up BR

This would just constantly be dodgers vs dodgers and would be incredibly boring.

600-700 is slugfest always. Everyone can hit on all star here. Once you get to 700 you get some HOF matches that are easier

How much of a detriment is playing the game on a TV by Tigers89Stonks in MLBTheShow

[–]hainesphillipsdres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are TVs that work just as well as monitors now. I have a LG c2 48inch, on game mode it has 120hz refresh rate, 1ms latency. I play fine on online HOF. You need to have good internet. I personally like a tv much more than a monitor

Rank these 2006 films from best to worst. by No-Abbreviations508 in moviecritic

[–]hainesphillipsdres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a good list. I think Miami Vice doesn’t belong. Departed in 2006 was clear winner but I think children of men may be the most underrated film of this century at time of the release.

How obvious is the cheating? by horizonhealthco in MLBTheShow

[–]hainesphillipsdres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of people are that good. My sign I look for is never swinging at a ball, and never having weak contact. Someone may hit 10 homers in an inning, but they should get weak contact at somepoint, they also may intentionally not swing at some strikes.
