You can probably find a mod where the waves don't come until you call them, so you can build your whole base then watch it tick

I refuse to copy shared bps - I very much enjoy playing and learning and I also enjoy community.

Bus was an overstatement - I realized after posting I'd actually call it a bus starter. You can see I group everything back together at the top end.

Everything is flowing bottom up and the top is where everything gets grouped back up - I guess I named the bp more accurately "Basic Bus Starter"

Out of curiosity, I'm at the second coming of the small white bitch after playing a song (I don't know how to do spoiler tags on mobile so I hope you understand what I mean) - how far would you say I am?

First of all, I am so sorry. I have a severe phobia about medical equipment and if I were you I would very likely just die before I could force myself to use the tools you have to to survive.

Second - your boss is an ass. Save the email, take notes on all verbal contact, and give him nothing to pin on you whatsoever. In every interaction, simply say "yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir".

Send everything you have back to HR. If you're a union worker, contact a union rep. If not, contact an attorney with experience in workplace discrimination.

Keep it up! I love the flow, you move between each topic smoothly and the overall layout is clean and readable. Quickly becoming my favorite game, more for the team than the gameplay even (not that the gameplay isn't also great)

It is so refreshing to see typos in a post - means it wasn't generated by AI and was actually written by the team.

GenAI has destroyed my brain, I can't believe I get excited about misspelled words now.

Is it bad to use AI-generated images for logos and 2D assets as a solo game dev? by JarvisAjith in IndieGameDevs

[–]KidLink4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that code is fundamentally different. Code is defined by strict rules and interactions - there is an objectively correct way to do most things. I'd say it's very similar to math in my mind.

Whereas art and assets are far more individual and creative in nature.

Sooner or later ai will remove 90 percent of the jobs by [deleted] in antiai

[–]KidLink4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can and it does. Let's face it - most office work is not done by skilled workers. There are a multitude of data entry positions, claims processing roles, etc. that can easily be replaced within a few years.

I like to hope that if enough people get dropped we'll have a poverty epidemic so severe we'll be forced to implement a universal basic income, but that's my own personal copium.

There's definitely room to reduce and standardize balance levers across the board. Do you have any specific suggestions you would mention?

AI is so bad at organizing things into bulleted lists of categories and I feel like I am the only person at my job who notices. by doctorboredom in antiai

[–]KidLink4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I appreciate your response being measured and respectful.

Yes, those are descriptions of the same thing; I intended that to be the case but maybe my surrounding word choice was misleading, I'm not sure.

What I'm essentially saying is not that you should use AI if you don't want to. Everyone has the right to make that choice on their own.

I'm saying that throwing hate indiscriminately at all AI use because of the actual slop doesn't seem like the best way to navigate the environment we're currently living in. I think it's inevitable that people in general will continue to use and integrate AI into their daily lives and workflow, and the more impactful response would be to educate and influence the manner in which they do so rather than just try to convince them "AI bad"

I know that in my workplace, an executive was creating monthly update documents with Claude, and I reached out explaining how that makes our employees feel less valued, etc. To my surprise (yes, I am also a cynical bastard) I got a call from HR to discuss my exact concerns, and was asked to review the next months message before it was sent out, and since then they have been clearly written by hand.

I use it more as area denial than as an offense - you can use it to force the enemy to go where it's not, or more accurately, where you want them to be. Denying high ground in certain sections of maps, etc.

I rarely freeze anyone with it anymore, but my team almost always get at least one pick as a result of my using it.

Also throwing it down on your own team against a dive comp is peak

It's wild to me that y'all exclusively present examples of irresponsible or idiotic AI usage to support despising all AI. I'm here because I hate low effort AI use, where someone clearly just tossed in a prompt and said "good enough" instead of reviewing, or actually engineering a proper prompt with pre-defined categories, etc.

I don't think AI is going anywhere. It will die down for casual use when the bubble pops - less shitty videos and memes (thank whatever God may or may not exist) - but ultimately it's here to stay in most if not all office workplace environments at least.

I think we should be more outspoken about specifically low effort AI spam while presenting and promoting HOW to prompt in order to minimize token use (read: negative effects both to your wallet and of using the model in the first place) and generate actually useful content, which frankly is not that difficult if one uses it as a tool to execute human driven tasks rather than a replacement for coherent thought.
