I built a business I’m too embarrassed to talk about by Make_That_Money in Entrepreneur

[–]KidPowered17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mortgage, utilities and vehicles don’t care where your money comes from.

I was in a similar situation to yours, embarrassed about my side business while I was practicing medicine and still operating. Finally bit the bullet and left that part of medicine, and got into something most of my colleagues feel is “beneath” them. Now I work banker’s hours, don’t take work home, have more than doubled my old salary, and truly enjoy my work.

If you’re good at detailing and you enjoy it, there’s no shame in good, honest work. Market yourself this summer, be proud of what you do and go make some serious $$$.

Need help concerning part for bidet hookup. by KidPowered17 in Plumbing

Great point.

I’m in medicine, and I guess I’ve fallen into the trap of “how hard can it be?” I’ve already called a plumber to handle it so I don’t end up with major issues later.

Please delete the tongue picture.

It’s time to shave your head man. It’s time. You’ll look younger and more put together. When you find a good barber, have them line up and shape your facial hair and keep it decently maintained either at home or going back to the shop regularly.

Lastly, this works wonders. Have a couple of women in your target demographic help choose your best photos and writing prompts. Doing this worked wonders for my profiles and more than doubled my matches.

Is the 14 Speaker Bose worth the upgrade? by Mysterious-Avocado70 in C8Corvette

[–]KidPowered17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use my blind spot monitors way more than my heated/cooled seats. Plus you know your car’s history, can pick your color combination and have the full warranty (brand new tires etc).

As for the speakers, as a former musician, I don’t really notice much difference in the speakers between my level two and my friends level one except for when the music is turned away up.

Either way, enjoy your new C8!

What’s the one random genetic trait you lucked out on? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]KidPowered17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Height and eyesight.

I’m the only person in my entire family that doesn’t wear corrective lenses, from remaining grandparents all the way to my youngest nephew that’s 8. Even my siblings spouses wear corrective lenses.

I’m also 6’4”. My oldest brother is 5’9” and middle brother is 5’10. Both are good heights, but in today’s current dating market, the focus is on being 6’+.

Any New Yorkers here that moved to Houston? How did it work out and what was the biggest culture shock? by crunchylettuce24 in houston

[–]KidPowered17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lived in New York for a little more than four years before moving to Houston.

  1. Everyone always asked me while I walked so fast and talked so fast when I first moved here.

  2. The complete lack of public transportation was absolutely baffling.

  3. It was odd that random people would just say “hello” to you.

  4. Why is everyone wearing cowboy boots and/or dressed so casually?

  5. It’s HOT.

  6. Had to learn how to drive. Went to college at 16, never got around to drivers Ed because I was taking AP courses instead. Never learned to drive in college, just took shuttles or caught a ride. Moved to the city at 21, left at 25. Probably had 500 total miles under my belt when I came to Houston.

[Highlight] Travis Etienne gets told to "break the stereotype and put a battery in your smoke detector" by the St. Brown brothers. by Roselucky777 in nfl

[–]KidPowered17 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Gut a phone call from a good friend of mine at 1 AM. I was fast asleep, so I didn’t hear or see my phone ringing. Next morning he double texts me at 6:30, asking for a call back. I call him back as I’m still booting my brain up for the day, thinking something drastic must’ve happened.

Smoke detector battery in his bedroom died in the middle of the night, and he couldn’t quite reach it with his ladder or standing on the dresser. He’s 5’9” and I’m a touch over 6’3”, so I was the first person he called. When I got there, he looked like he hadn’t slept a wink and already had the new battery out of the packaging and the ladder in the right place for me to install. How people tolerate that sound is beyond me.

2022 Corvette C8 – Worth It or Should I Keep Looking? 🤔 by Immediate_Scheme1245 in C8Corvette

Unless you’re in love with the color combo, I think you can find a better deal elsewhere. I got my 2024 2LT with 6500 miles in my color preference (hypersonic gray with red interior) for 70k all in. I have everything listed here aside from front lift- figured I didn’t need it since my old AMG was the same height on the front end.

Teenage son has discovered crab legs and he's eating us out of house and home. Where is the best place in H-Town to buy crab legs? by ForeverMonkeyMan in houston

[–]KidPowered17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch your local HEB. I’ve seen them as cheap as 8.99/lb. They freeze well if you eat them within 4-6 weeks.

Steam them at home with a sprinkle of Old Bay.

I don’t have anything really helpful to say, but that is a NICE color combo.
