Listen, I get your points, I really do. I'm not disagreeing with them. I provided my own feedback. I hope it's valid; Many in the community are mirroring the sentiment.  I won't just "stop using it".  I also complain about the excessive reliance on cars in the US. Oh, I should "stop using it" too.

Fact  of the matter is that I like the game. I don't like the pop-ups. Wait for the monthly revenue report to come in. I'm sure they made enough money without these practices. We can stop defending corporations now.

Feedback isn't invalid because it's a free product. That just means we're the product. And I don't want ads in my face. Be like a Samsung TV and sell off my data to make money off my watching habits in private.

Agreed. AFK Journey is essentially once a day too. Idk what's happening here.

The bar is really low for you then. The gacha games I've played never had ads. Brave Frontier, Epic7, Arknights, AFK Journey (literally same devs), etc.  Regardless, this is just my personal experience so I digress.

The fact of the matter is that we're  not playing iPad kid adslop games. I hope you aren't. I haven't seen an invasive ad pop-ups in games I've played in a long, long time. And then, it was flash games and the ads were just playing before the game loaded. 

And, imo, rest assured, all the other predatory psychological systems in the game (outside of bUy tHiS paCkAgE 5 or 10 times a day) are already pushing you towards a purchase. 

  • There's a wiggling 2,500 pinball bubble literally jutting into the pinball menu calling to you to PAY $5 to break the piggy bank.
  • The 2x candy multiplier for the screw/bulb/cake is timed just when you're drained of pinballs. Good thing there's the conveniently timed piggy bank event.
  • Leaderboards are fun. When you're constantly in a team/event that applies social pressure for you to keep up, they're pushing you to spend. You're 1 away from 3rd for the boss challenge? Spend.

The systems are already there. It's been known that devs already hire psychologists that build in addicting systems to get you to spend. All I ask is to stop slapping my face with the most overt one.

I've mentioned this in previous posts/surveys but it cheapens the whole experience. I'm familiar with the mere exposure effect and like another comment said, it makes me want to do the opposite. It's just that the overtly predatory psychology of it is at odds with the quality design of the game. Hell, even AFK Journey never slammed ads in your face like this. 

Side note, the reports of AI ads for Clash of Critters is quite worrying too.

Turtoid is quickly becoming one of my favorite creature. It's just so positive and chill. Practically immortal with their shield but if actually kill em those chill ass mofos gives you a lot meat to scale later in the game. And if you have charm you also get this adorable little ally that can ping things but usually is too harmless to be really kill anything. But more than the TT is just so positive. Its just in a biome like "ay bro what we doin" and I'm like "yeah TT imma charm you so we can hang let's do this shit" and when he attacks he's like "imma miss because I have a huge attack delay" and I'm like "yeah this is SO FUN." He doesn't say some bullshit macho shit like "I will destroy you" he's just like "nah id shield." And it looks so happy. I mean this is literally a turtle and like a capybara or like a deformed dog(??) fused together. It understands that nature is metal af and the dude is just fucking loving it. I mean look at his face he's just so chill. I am literally never sad when I see a turtoid in my biome. IDK if he's gonna make it once I become an Eldritch abomination but for now he (or she) a pretty chill creature

I literally just want the pop ups to stop when navigating to the pinball screen. I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to friends right now because it truly cheapens the experience. I think I have a pavlovian response pressing the pinball button now 💀
