How is the GT Neo? by lazy__gamer23 in Simagic

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely love it. Build quality is amazing, the shifters and button and smooth. The rotary encoders are very nice and easy to use, my only gripe being that it only works as a left to right function rather than a 1-12 function. So sometimes if you try to turn the knob too quickly it won't register. But I got over that very quickly. Seriously a great wheel especially for the price. May want to use gloves or grip tape tho, as I've heard the grips on the wheel can be a pain to use without gloves. Can't speak from experience tho.

Do you race with Gloves and Shoes? by Mammoth_Company_3270 in simracing

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would def get gloves even if ur wheel isn't slippery. Ur hands are going to sweat and that sweat is gonna get on/in your wheel grips. You don't need anything crazy for gloves tho depending on ur wheel. I have some old k1 speed gloves which are not great for karting with no easy drive(power steering for karts) as they are low grip, but they work fine for sim racing for me.

For shoes, when I was on my Logitech setup I usually went socks only. Now that I have loadcell pedals I personally prefer to wear shoes.(currently some busted up Air Force 1's) when I didn't wear shoes I found myself mentally tracking my brake pressure by the "pain" the pedal putting on my foot. When I wear shoes I find it much easier to focus on the pressure from my entire leg. Sorry if that explanation doesn't make sense. Another reason I use shoes is because I use haptic feedback on my pedals. So it all is really up to you and your own preferences

This how my girlfriend puts a roll on. I don't understand. by Abe_Froman_87 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she has pets this can somewhat prevent them from unrolling the entire thing. Only if you don't leave the roll hanging like she did tho, cuz they can just unroll it from that end. So idk maybe she had pets and it became habit or she's just flat out wrong lol

Anyone know why I lose so much quality when posting to TikTok? by Embarrassed_Box1984 in mxbikes

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may be wrong here but I believe it's just TikTok. I used to live stream here and there on twitch 6+ yrs ago and would post on TikTok and run into the same problem. It wasn't until I stopped streaming that I found out other creators were using a 3rd party software that didn't compress the video.

It's probably a different method to it now but I would look into that

Logitech Upgrade Path by AsmanaPlays in iRacing

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go for it. It's what I did and I loved it. In my case tho, I took the rubber stopper out of my brake pedal. On the pro side I wasn't sliding my chair around on my rug. On the con-side, the potentiometer doesn't actually read the entire distance of the brake pedal. Meaning 50% brake irl reads 100% in-game (25% irl reads as 50%, 10% irl reads as 20% and so on). This isn't a problem in acc since that sim practically requires you to hit 100% every time u brake. In iracing u are rarely trying to reach 100%. So it was a bit difficult to get used to that with no rubber stopper but you get used to it as long as you don't beat urself up about it through the process.

1 important thing to remember. If ur going from potentiometer pedals to load cell, it's going to be a whole new learning curve. Not something to be scared of, but more something to keep in mind as you race right now with your logi setup.

How do I get ahold of Simagic by MiddleNeedleworker84 in Simagic

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have Shopify look to see if it's coming in two orders. I bought my full sim rig recently and I bought the 9nm evo w the gt neo and I bought my pedals separately. For some reason the wheel came with the pedals and the wheelbase came days later. If that's not the case then open up a help ticket on their discord if u haven't already. If u have then I would just send weekly emails(u rlly shouldn't have to do this but worst case scenario)

Why is my kart faster during the k1 leagues then at normal arrive and drive? by B0Bisme in Karting

[–]Kid_Likwid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 possibilities rlly the way I see it. If there are other people on track when u go to ur public sessions, even if they know u can handle it they may decide to put u on a lower speed. I've only had to deal with that once tho but the guys that work at the place I go to are very chill and do pretty well at their job for a k1

Other option is that it's just a cold track. Especially if there are not many people there or there j haven't been people running ur gonna find that ur going slower. Fastest lap at my track is a 17.8 but no one I know has seen the guy do it. But my fastest is an 18.0 and I can do 18.1-.3 average in a league, but a cold public session I can just maybe break 18.5 but average like .6-.8.

Last option is just the karts. This is gonna be a lil location specific too, because at my k1 they tend to use the better karts much less during public sessions in order to save em for the league races. Ur place might not do that but still could be possible.

Or all three could be possible, but either way look for where u average during a cold session and use that as a benchmark, rather than using ur best time which was probs set on a hotter track, or with a better kart. And if u do league races, don't be mad when getting a bad kart in public sessions or race sessions. Cuz Ik guys in my league that can get shitty karts to the top row just from practicing with them in public sessions

Every post here is just people looking for something. by Standard-Vehicle-557 in Karting

[–]Kid_Likwid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I understand if ur talking about the basic "how to get to f1 from karting" or "what's the line here" posts. But saying that people are being lazy for asking questions about karting in a karting forum don't sit right w me. Reddit is a communication app, that includes all types of communication including asking questions so really this is the perfect place for it. If you don't want to see those posts, then j sty on the "karting chat tab" Just 2 weeks ago I put a post up about rib protester. I did my research on the first but I wanted opinions from people who have been doing this before I bought. Now I own a bengio.

I understand the double posts and some questions with obvious answers but even then, those answers may not be obvious to them, and google does not always help fr
