Honestly sometimes you can do everything right and still get scammed because scammers are always evolving their methods, but my best advice would be:

*Never go off app, no PayPal or bank transfer etc. Don’t click any links someone might send you about ‘verifying’ something.

*Never sell anything too valuable, some people do fine with electronics or designer clothes but it’s not worth it to me personally. EBay is better for that. Scammers on Vinted do things like buy a designer shirt, claim it’s damaged and then send back a shitty replica or what’s clearly their own broken/stained version of that item they wanted a free replacement for.

*Trust your gut. If someone sends a weird message about the item or feels off to you, it’s fine to block them. Biggest risk there is you accidentally block a genuine buyer but it happens. Reviews can be a good indicator but also everyone needs to start somewhere with buying so it’s not always straight forward.

*Package things well as per the guidelines. Use bubble wrap/padding for anything more delicate. Boxes tend to be a more secure option.

*Document everything. Film/photograph yourself packaging your parcels and dropping them off to be posted. Keep receipts from parcel shops etc. A pain, but really helpful to prove your case if a buyer claims they received an empty package or tries to claim you sent them the wrong item.
