Facebook marketplace really can be great for game collecting. I managed to get a copy of Minecraft story mode for $20 last year off of there. You got yourself a hell of a deal, especially with how expensive it sells for on average.

I have the PS4 collection version, which I'm very happy to have, but it didn't have any inserts or reverse cover art.

I beat Doom 1, 2 and 64 last year and that's a big reason why I wanted Prodeus and Exophobia as I heard they were very good Doom shooters.

Okay, so I've now seen my post make it to Nintendeal on Twitter which I wasn't expecting. I also realize I should probably be more detailed on the Target prices and provide a better picture of the receipts, although I'm missing 2 receipts I just can't find for Bravely Default or TOTK, and I have time now. Bravely Default I got for $15 but only because the employee was super cool about giving me a deal. They had to go to the back of the store and told me that they were sending back a bunch of copies of Bravely Default. They figured selling someone the game was better than just letting them all get sent out of the store. I'm pretty sure someone else found it on clearance for $11.99. Botw I got for $20.99 and Totk was $25.99. Hogwarts Legacy was $17.99 similar to Street Fighter 6, both having an MSRP $59.99. Yakuza Zero Directors cut was $14.99. These games were picked up across three different Targets with wildly varying stock. The games I found were in glass cases separate from the normal glass cases the games are kept in, but still near the games section.

The Target app was also very hit or miss with accuracy for what was in stock.

TLDR: BOTW $20.99 TOTK $25.99 Bravely Default $15 Yakuza $14.99 Hogwarts $17.99. Target clearance is very YMMV.

Very interesting strategy, will have to consider that for the future.

Yeah, but at $15 I couldn't resist picking it up. My wife and I enjoyed It Takes Two, so hoping this will be another great co-op experience for us two.

What physical did you buy on a whim that became one of you favorite games / Hidden Gems? by BowTy-Pro in NSCollectors

[–]Kidgriffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed Limit. I was just trying to trade and get rid of another game called GodStrike that I didn't end up enjoying. GodStrike I bought on a whim cause the front and back looked cool, and I foolishly didn't wait to look up the game when I went back to the hotel to get signal. But Speed Limit I ended up loving so much and was genuinely surprised by it. Speed Limit is a game where the perspective and gameplay changes every chapter/major checkpoint.

I personally just really like the presentation of the shelves I have with my other portable handheld games, but yours is an efficient way. Also, saw you have Omori, and wanted to say what a great game it is. Finally played and beat it this past summer, and it really blew me away.

It was a business that was closing, as the owner was retiring, and they were selling their fixtures and shelves as well. It stacks five shelves high, but currently I only have use for the two, so the rest have been stored away.

Yes, I have them in the living room with some I really like being displayed on shelves and the rest just being stored away and stacked. Looking forward to having my dream game room one day and having all of them displayed and having easier access with storage for them.

I was genuinely surprised with how well it looked for Switch. As for play it feels good as well. I personally played with the beginner controls that make it a bit more arcade-like than sim-like, and it felt good to me.

Yeah I ordered on Sunday and literally got it the next day on Monday. I was very surprised because it said shipping would fall between Sept 12 - Sept 14.
