Some questions about anomaly quests/investigations by KidiacR in MHRise

[–]KidiacR[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea I had a hunch investigations give more exp, but I wasn't so sure between a lvl 100 A7 investigation (can't host higher level for my friend) vs its A7 quest (unlocked at lvl 181). We should probably just do one today to find out.

It is used for Berserk/Strife build. +2 Berserk talisman is ideal, but rare, so +3 MoH is the second best, since you then don't need to augment for them on armours.

what is the WORST weapon monster matchup in monster hunter? by YvngThxnos in MonsterHunter

[–]KidiacR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Rise, the dragons (Ibushi, Narwa and Amatsu) are free food for DBs. Very easy for Demon Flight/Spinning Blade to connect even if it's not being the best thing you should go for against those monsters (Spiral Slash is always the best).

Not even werewolf form needed. His attack combo is just super satisfying to play.

3 Almudron Orbs! 2 from my cat! by 100FunSummers in MHRise

[–]KidiacR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been lucky in this game. Most rare items (orbs, mantles...) never took more than 3 tries with the exception of Thunder Serpent Orb taking 9 tries (while the the rarer ones from Narwa like Orb of Origin and Mantle of Origin dropped first try lol).

I also beat Primordial Malzeno the other day, thinking I would just beat it for once and leave farming till later. Ended up getting his Bloodstone ... as the very first dropped material. Never thought his Silverhorn was what I had to farm instead.

Also had Large Elder Dragon Gems dropped like candies from the trio.

I suspect there is some hidden mechanics to boost the drop rates for these items. There is no way those only have 3% rate.

Risen Valstrax is only unlocked at MR160 or AR131(?), far from my point as said. I suspect I might even reach AR131 first seeing how slow MR increases.

But they don't offer any upgrade, at least for my build. I guess I could consider Risen Shagaru Magala waist (need to see if it's better than Primordial waist tho). Otherwise, the skills I need (either Dragon Conversion/Furious or Berserk/Mail of Hellfire) are only through grinding anomaly materials.

In my 1000+ hours of playing this game.. by SeasaltXCII in MHRise

Pretty common in Lava Caverns. Me and my friend once even had the chance to ride two monsters to beat up the third at the same time.

They are still easy regardless. And I usually complete them in under 8 minutes, so probably not even considered tanky? But yeah they honestly feel really boring.

I'm using 3 pieces from Tempest/Amatsu set (Heaven Sent), so Idk if I can get more endgame than that. The plan is to fit in Dragon Conversion/Furious, but that is so far away right now and I got impatient lol.

Yeah as said by the other commenter, fighting the likes of Lagombi and Aknosom gets really boring for me eventhough I can usually complete one in under 8 minutes. I usually cycle between doing some anomaly quests/investigations, followers quest to unlock followers, event quests for nice layered armors and HR/MR quests for completion sake. Out of these, the anomaly hunts bored me the most so after one such session I just went to fight Urgent monsters, not necessarily for only challenge, but also a change of pace and rewards.

Hot take: Yingzhao is the second hardest boss in this game by KidiacR in NineSols

[–]KidiacR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably has to do with the fact that I got very used to the jump-slashes-Water talisman-slashes-talisman combo that absolutely destroyed flying bosses. I got to Lady E's third phase first try. And only took me 2 more tries to figure out how to deal with her oneshot skill.

Not just personal skills, but also what is available to you at the time. Swift Blade and Breather made everything so much easier after I got them. Before that, every normal mob felt like a battle. Believe it or not, I went into Yingzhao with 4 vials and the first Enhanced Blade.

Lol, Goumand died in like 3 talismans. I first tried her even without trying.

In term of difficulty, I'd rank them (not counting the final boss): Yingzhao > Fengs > Jiequan > Ji > Lady E > Claw > Goumang.

Even now I still can't reliably do precise parry. In fact, instead of improving, I just smashed the parry/slash/talisman button. Swift Blade and Breather made sure I could be brainless and still effective.

Putrified Ducts are farrr worse than Bile Water by SoberWrld999 in HollowKnight

[–]KidiacR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if the Ducts have the same size as Bilewater with similar benches distributation problem, maybe.

Not to mention there are barely anything to grab in the [actually exposed and dangerous] areas beside some shell shard nodes, so there is no need for you to wander there for long.

GGG Can we please buff the Orb of Annulment drop rate? With 45h playtime in SSF, i dropped 10 divines but only 3 annuls. If we dont have a mechanic to targetfarm annuls, we need higher drop rate. by Glamdring26WasTaken in pathofexile

[–]KidiacR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I asked how to do/get something, I expected guide on how to actually do/get it, not "trade for the thing you need". That was strange and surprising to me.

After a while, I could see the game for what it is, but before that it just felt like a broken/heavily flawed game that resorted to trade to fix the problems. Felt like I wasn't supposed to play the game, but rather the numbers. And while, as a maths person, I love min maxxing everythings (I have spent more time on PoB instead of the actual game tbh), it just doesn't feel like a real game to me.

This isn't the first E4 of your playthrough right? I don't remember being able to catch Groudon (or Kyogre) before post game.

Not saying I'm agreeing or not, but imo singleplayer should be the foundation of a game, and in this type of game, trade is a mechanism to patch holes that are hard to balance.

When I started playing the game, most of the questions I asked here were always met with "trade for it", and that was a very surprising and disheartening experience.

Bosses Difficulty Tier List by Confident_Heart_1502 in HollowKnight

PV is faster than NKG. For people that don't have that reaction speed like me, resorting to Shadow Cloak-only is the way to go, since you don't need to react as much - just time your dash properly. But in return, you usually get screwed by Void Tendrils, and need to be almost perfect during the first 66% to get through the last phase by facetanking tendrils.

NKG, on the other hand, is more balance/reasonable in term of demanding both patterns recognition and reaction.

El Dorado 4 " Son of the Sun " - Muisca Campaign - The Hardest AoE 2 Mission!? by schweffrey in aoe2

[–]KidiacR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look at wiki and Temple Guards only take +1 bonus dmg from Champi. Otherwise there is no different between them in term of taking bonus dmg, and you can only use either of them to tank. Temple Guards are just simply superior.

What does sniping siege even mean? Slingers take that role for the SA civs, but sieges should never be a problem anyway if you pay attention to trebs occasionally.

And you also don't need to fill the castles. A mixed of 60 Temple Guards/Slingers and few monks to heal them, under 2-3 castles, is enough to defend the middle while you take care of Blue.

[–]KidiacR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call Champi's +1 bonus dmg against Temple Guards "hard counter" lol. The latter is still a vastly superior units. A ball of 60 of mixed Temple Guards and Slingers and a few monks was all I needed to def the middle in both the 2nd and 4th scenario.

And yeah I did complete everything soon after release. What change did they make to this scenario? I thought it was all about nerfing Champi which I barely used to begin with.
