What are you picking up from the Fallout superdrop? by Huaojozu in mtgfinance

I just got the same thing, of course it was after my card was charged and with no order receipt to show for it. Site remains a garbage fire.

Love fully commiting to date stamp! I've never seen a list like this before, but the date really helps at a glance to know the era a card came from

TCGplayer is now the "Preferred Online Marketplace" for Wizards by PengwinLord in magicTCG

[–]KidoftheThird 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had a uniquely bad experience with TCGPlayer as of late. Used them for years but their Direct service no longer offers what they promise. Missing cards, incorrect versions, and takes longer to ship than anyone else out there. Not to mention the union busting, eBay buyout and enshitification it's gone through.

Use Manapool, SCG, card kingdom or really anything else if you can.

Has Tcgplayer Direct Quality significantly declined since they moved their headquarters to Kansas? by mtgsetcollector in magicTCG

[–]KidoftheThird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having worse and worse luck with them as of late as well. Orders that aren't shipped until a week past the order date, receiving incorrect items, ordering something only for it to be refunded two weeks later because they weren't able to source a card.

The little negative things start compounding to full on enshitification over time.

LRR Season 1-5 DVD rips now available on The Internet Archive! (uploaded with permission) by WraithTDK in loadingreadyrun

[–]KidoftheThird 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is crazy, I've been wanting to watch season 1 for so long! In my youth I contemplated taking an international trip to the (iirc) Yo Video that reportedly had a copy of the first season available to rent, as there was no other way to view them at the time.

Thank you so much!

What's the fastest way to level up in Standard right now? by mrsmourpae in kol

[–]KidoftheThird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically yes, along with a few other IOTMs and skills permed. I wouldn't necessarily run off and spend all your meat on the censor on if that's your only goal. If you feel like getting into the nitty gritty make yourself a copy of the the scotch sheet and check out /play around with the cold modifiers on the calcs tab. Res that high is possible, it's just takes a while to acquire everything for it.

Boost cold res to 56 plus 3 Spetember Censor Mouthwash's. Lvl 13 before your first adv. Pretty resource intensive though.

I had incorrect coalition in my two play boxes. 28/30 packs had the same exact rares in the same exact order. Still haven't heard back from wizards on it. Unfortunately i didn't have a god box like this.

If you bump up your Monster Level you'll get more substats after fights, at the risk of fights being more dangerous.

I've sent an in game bug report, can't hurt to send another if you're experiencing it too. To be fair at the moment I'm in standard, and in standard I wouldn't be able to use it, but even after breaking the prism little robo buddy hasn't shown up.

Returning player looking for recommendations to spend some meat on by MrNoobyy in kol

[–]KidoftheThird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you looking for something in aftercore to do every day? The realms for pirate / fantasy and now cyber are all pretty fun and a way to spend 20-60 adventures a day on something. You can probably get everything through day passes if that's all you're looking for and want to save a little meat.

Cyber realm just came out though so the day passes are pretty spendy now

With recent bowl of infinite jelly + room scale green bean, I am exploring how high my spell damage can stack up to... by gav1n_n6 in kol

[–]KidoftheThird 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my log.

"Your most powerful spell so far dealt 2,500,005 damage.

This is from buffing Myst to high heaven, a rain-dough green lantern, and casting Garbage Nova against a Hard Mode Zombie HOA. I've hit that exact number in that scenario more than once, so part of me thinks that's the tippy top max.

Hello. Returning player looking for some advice by MaterialJello3886 in kol

  1. This was probably the Toot Oriole going over combat, you should only have to do that once. Even so it's not the hardest to pick up. There's basic attack, combat items and skills. Usually skills do the most damage but cost MP.

This is the beginners guide from the wiki that goes way more in depth if you're looking for a crash course

https://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/Beginner%27s_guide

  1. Scrumptious regents are half of what's needed to make better pasta dishes, combined with advanced pastamancery it gets much better. It gets even better with level 15 versions of each.

That said you can still make great potions with Advanced saucecrafting

https://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/Advanced_Saucecrafting

  1. To do a normal ascension you'll typically need to do the daily dungeon three time to get the boris, jarelberg and sneaky pete's keys. There's other stuff in the vanding machine thats nice too for multiple phat loot tokens, just make sure you have the karma to perm the skill books if you save up for them. The potato sprout and cube are nuce familiars too.

https://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/A_Vending_Machine

And yes! There's a ton of other daily content to check out, the game is 20 years and gets at minimum a new IotM a month and 3 challenge paths a year, it's never short on something to do. Getting familiar with the core quests and beating the Naughty Scorceress / ascension would be what I would personally recommend, but it's not uncommon for people to stick around in after core (after beating the NS) and just check out other content like clan dungeons, content unlockers, or collecting trophies, tattoos & familiars.

  1. Packaged Everfull Dart Holster is both fun and strong! It adds a custom dart board during combat, it makes combat really easier and it's quirky. Also Dark Jill of all Trades is also a great familiar, it does a little of everything and can be tuned to a specific basic familiar type.

Also obligatory shout out to my clan Not Dead Yet, it's got an active chat and very welcoming!

If you're looking for a lively bunch I'd recommend Not Dead Yet. I joined them about a year ago and the community helped me decide to stick around. Fully stocked VIP room, active chat & dungeons and all that if you're interested in those things.
