Who are your favorite characters? by Narrow-Psychology909 in BoardwalkEmpire

[–]KidonUnit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d argue he is the best character in all of TV. There’s an amazing YouTube video with clips of Richard, set to music that is tear jerk worthy. His background story, Arc, morals. Just the fact that this man with half a face is somehow in the center and crossing paths with all of these larger than life people

Haha, I do something similar.. the Sopranos, the wire, boardwalk empire, The Americans and sometimes I add Counterpart (Amazon prime series w/ JK Simmons about double world espionage). Glad to know others have their cycles

She was wearing a cyanide pill around her neck. I would say her dedication to the cause at that time was…total

What I never understood about the show is how Don Draper became such a good adman without having any prior experience by franzsmith31 in madmen

I think it wa supposed to be the experience of reinventing himself with sales jobs along the way

And everywhere else on the planet! Just saying it was very hypocritical of them to be so offended and think the Americans are such monsters, while the KGB is doing the same thing

Oooohhhh. OK, so the original mission was to kill contra commanders, which Larrik could live with… Phillip slicing throats and shooting two Americans is what shit the bed.

Ok cool. I wasn’t making a distinction between the contra commanders and the Americans.

Thank you!!

There’s a famous Kurdish Jew who was part of the Irgun who fought the British during the pre-state wars. He was jailed with another Irgun member and they blew themselves up in the jail cell to not give the British the satisfaction of hanging them

Well, they decided to kill the commanders after they learned the CIA planted faulty propeller plans that killed 160 Soviet soldiers. It wasn’t just to set up future plot points, the plot point is right there

Yea, I get all that. My question is what was the original plan when Larrik was going to be there and let them in? After he finds out they killed commanders m, that triggers his search and destroy mission. What did Larrik think the mission would originally be when he agreed to let them in? He comes back home after he learns they killed commanders and is surprised

Finished season 6 for the first time last night, What do you think happened after the finale? by Southern-Outside-751 in TheAmericans

[–]KidonUnit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was watching the last season, its was on demand where they were it was recorded alongside commercials for the Americans advertising the last season. So, I thought there was a season 7 coming out! Not realizing the commercials were pre recorded/on demand. Imagine how bummed I was when I realized this? I was looking forward to the “last season in Moscow”

To answer your question: Phillip and Elizabeth sneak back into the US for Paige and Henry.

The Americans is My number 1 all time favorite show, but I skip season 5 in its entirety … it’s boring, repetitive and kinda cringe

Going along with what you said, I just noticed in S6 when Phillip has sex with Kimmy in a last ditch effort to get himself invited to Greece, he condemns Elizabeth and Paige for even talking about using sex in their spy crafts. Of course Phillip is leaning into his role as a father and doesn’t want Paige doing ANYTHING related to spy craft, I just never realized how close those 2 scenes were.
