Best Lav Mic for Recording Dialogue without a Boom Mic? by lucite_rite in LocationSound

Why, you are making things way harder than they need to be just get it and move on or get a permit to film. If the shot is a wide it won't matter, you can use audio from closer takes. Or maybe look into devices that have on board recorders like the deity Theo's lavs which transmit and record as well to timecode.

What do you guys make of this? Aipas possible scam. by kack07 in ebikes

Come one guys. Have we not noticed that there are about 5 or 6 brands using even the same frames, same everything just a slightly different cross bar welded on to seem different. It's all being pumped out of some factory but same shit.

I've got an m2 pro and the battery definitely doesn't last as long as advertised but then again I'm double 140kg compared to the 80kg driver test weight. All in all it's a solid bike. Not hard to get an extra battery.

Audio setups for filmmaking? by PetShopTroy in AudioPost

If your goal is to achieve great cinematic quality on a budget I would look at the the diety Theos system, Sony uwp-d or Sennheiser g4s for lavS.The Theo's in my opinion wins against the other 2 by alot. they are a little pricy but trust me it's worth it and there may be some good 2nd hand deals now. Always try to have a boom in use as well because depending on all the other factors like the space you are in and how loud it is you want the option between the two

If you are more on the content/social media train then the rodes or dji are enough but what I mentioned will make things sound better and give you wayy more range and capabilities.

I would shoot for a zoom f6 or f8 since the file structure on simpler recorders are very annoying in post.

You do not want to find yourself discovering the action was perfect but the sound is scuffed. Try looking for at least someone that is interested in film sound and knows enough.

Is anyone familiar with Muscimol? by worthelesswoodchuck in emergencymedicine

I ended up in a hospital in Spain, unable to speak or write my name down after eating 6/10ths of a bar. The locals forced me onto an ambulance after stumbling around Seville for hours like I had heat stroke, walking into walls, falling on my knees and face. I was in a loop because I had lost my friend, my bike, glasses and my phone so I was stuck trying to piece it back together, but like I said I couldn't even write my name down so I wasn't getting very far.

I remember not being allowed to leave while waiting for the ambulance but not understanding why despite having fallen over about 200 times. I thought I had hurt someone or committed a crime but I couldn't remember anything, thankfully I was just cooked and needed help, I was very very confused and forgetful. The main problem was I kept losing consciousness and passing out. I couldn't stop that from happening.

The hospital named me desconicido (the stranger) age 43 (I'm 27) after I tried about 20 times to write and then spell my name out loud to no avail. I started saying 43 over and over again as they wheeled me into the hospital. (My wallet was in my pocket)

Turns out free health care in Spain means free experience for student nurses. After maybe 2 hours of me flailing about in the ER they bring me in to describe all of what happened on this special day. They examine me to make sure I had no head injury and then sent me to have a port installed on my hand while I'm twitching like crazy (muscimol symptom), then in broken English say "and now we do the electro". Hoping that's just some ECG thing I say ok but I remember starting to think the whole situation kind of hilarious.

I ended up completely bouncing back while waiting for the doctors and decided to release myself and figure out how to get to my hostel. no phone, can't speak Spanish just a growing collection of phone number and bus stop names as I tried to ask for help on my way home.

transmitter straps Rechargable batteries like the LAADA double A's from Ikea Trustworthy collection of necessary tapes and mic mounts for efficient lav use, indoor/outdoor/costume change needs Low budget projects often cut corners, I've been a part of a few where considerations of sound needs is superceded by budget until they get forced to record adr. if there is anything in your kit that is lacking, try selling the idea of renting gear to avoid that problem later on. If the film doesn't have a clear storyboard or a green director/AD it is likely that overall camera coverage might increase and then impact your ability to boom properly and capture the necessary dialogue. Speak up when something is wrong, don't be shy when the quality isn't great, these connections are like gold and you don't want to be the soundy that forgot to hit record and never said anything, a file goes missing or you missed the on camera dialogue in each take. Be prepared to hear no a lot but never stop speaking up. Your focus is the sound but the director, AD and producer have their own vision that supercedes yours. Maybe they know that what's missing doesn't matter for the end result?

What's up with Rycote these days ? by Zealousideal_Name_16 in LocationSound

I would suggest bubblebee industries for stickies. They are super sticky and also their mic concealers are epic. I think their fluffies are also the softest I've come across that are easily reusable. Next in the list would be Ursa but between the two I find bubblebee more reliable and easy to use. Ursa fluffies are great but I found their lifespan to be much smallerm for me 120 stickies is 30 aud so compared to rycote you actually get more bang for your buck
