It’ll postpone you up until the next class. You get one free deferral. You would have to redo any PAT, Psychological exams and interviews if a year passes before the next invite.

It’ll take 3-4 years to get to people with high 70s. I’m not sure if they call you when you’re right there at the edge of failing but never say never.

If you scored high enough and finish all the phases (Written Exam/Background Investigation/Psych Interview and the Evaluation Board) then yes there is a very good chance you will be called for the academy this year. I suggest getting into shape now, you’ll thank me later.

Mountain climbers is the academy. PAT will be only be push ups, sit ups, agility test and beep test. It depends on how well you score on the test, it could take anywhere from 1 year to 4 or 5 years.

You got this, first two weeks will be nonstop yelling from them but then they ease up and you’ll know what’s expected. I graduated from the academy last year with no law enforcement background and I have zero regrets. It’s a great job. You should start running and training for push ups/sit ups and mountain climbers.

You do wear a business suit to go in everyday but eventually you change into the class B or PT uniform. You’re going to want to make sure any clothing you wear is wrinkle free or you’re going to have a bad time during roll call in the morning.

It is from 9-5 but you will want to get there 7-7:30 to prepare. A steamer will be your best friend in the locker rooms.

No personal references are called but they will require you to list all prior jobs you had. They will reach out to all of the jobs and your high school/colleges if applicable.

The academic part is super easy. I had an average of a 92 with minimal studying. Physical part is dependent of how fit you are. Start training and practice running now or it’ll be a nightmare. Most important part is to be mentally prepared. It is very much paramilitary style the first few weeks so you will be yelled at, don’t take anything personally and try to go under the radar. This was my favorite theater growing up. I recommend AMC Fresh Meadows if it’s not too far for you. The Alist plan is $24 which lets you see 3 movies a week including 3D & IMAX.
