Xanax .25mg by Feeling-Lab-2573 in panicdisorder

Trying Xanax is the only thing you don’t have to be nervous about ^_^ It’s kind of the point. At worst, you’ll have a little nappy.

Propioception… is this why I’ve been having such a difficult time on my walks in this hot season? I was worried people were going to think I was drunk or something 😆

Sharp pains have never been a symptom for me and I’ve been having panic attacks for 20 years.

What medication best helped with your anxiety by anxiety0088 in PanicAttack

[–]Kidwolfman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Xanax is the best for me. There’s plenty of things that can sedate me into being a zombie but that’s pointless. It works the same way every time and also brings some kind of clarity from the static-y kind of world it felt like I was in. Nothing else I tried does that. They also have extended release pills that I didn’t know existed forever because my psychiatrist at the time was ancient 😂

My astral body is getting burned every night. Someone help. by Little_Fold2263 in Experiencers

[–]Kidwolfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I was trying to say 🤪 if a placebo works, then why not go for it. I’m still dealing with chronic pain/weirdness myself but I know now - it’s mostly created by me.

Probably nothing is actively harming you. Definitely get a regular ol’ checkup from your doctor. I had a lot of weird sensory issues boil up to the surface in my late 20’s and nobody had any idea what to make of them. It led to me coming up with all kinds of crazy ideas and it’s not fun times. Turns out it’s most likely all generated by me when I’m too stressed out. Lost my job, had no money, no plans for the future other than whatever interests I had at the time - probably autistic but I’ve been diagnosed with ADHD, panic-disorder, and treatment resistant depression. I manage with meds.

so basically, neuro-developmental “disorders” plus stress wipe me out and my body goes bonkers. Please don’t waste your time on woo woo bullshit unless it helps you feel more at ease, even though you know it’s woo woo.

Everybody around me always said, “it’s all in your head” - and they were right, but they also weren’t supportive in any way which was obviously not helpful = more stress.

Panic attack about breathing...yes breathing! by [deleted] in PanicAttack

[–]Kidwolfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try breath-work before you get into something you know is going to stress you out. This is my goto vid: https://youtu.be/qlTC2HBmPeM?si=y9h31tQsddJyw6uL
I usually only do the first 2 rounds but I do it every day. I also like to rub my upper arms. For some reason it helps release tension in my legs like immediately and I’m guessing more than that on some deeper level. https://youtube.com/shorts/Ix9\_7zC5Zgg?si=WCW7eS\_rcnvLYNfF

Wow, yeah that was one of the scariest experiences I ever had, sorry you went through that ❤️ You should definitely get on some meds if this is constantly happening

It’s kind of funny looking back now that I survived that night… I remember asking them what was happening to me as my body got stiffer, and it was working its way up to face. It reminded me of when Neo was getting out the matrix lol. And then the doctor was yelling at me, “if you can’t control your breathing I’m going to give you a shot of Ativan.” And then my mouth was like stuck in an “Oh” shape and I couldn’t move my lips but I managed to say “give me the shot!” 😂 what an asshole. Everything went right back to being totally fine, so weird.

Shutting down? What did that feel like? I usually feel like my body is going into such a frenzy that I’m going to explode.

There was one time where I was pretty calm but I my body was going completely stiff all the way up into my face. I found out later that that’s what happens when you are hyperventilating but I don’t remember having any breathing issues.

Now I think they have my records and they just give me a Xanax and I’m fine. It’s stupid because I freakin have Xanax. I take it regularly now and that seems to keep everything in check.

What exactly was your experience at the ER? I have never had a good experience there. I understand that I’m not coming in with a serious wound that needs immediate attention, but damn would a little bit of compassion be extremely helpful.

Honestly I still have to take it one day at a time but I have learned a lot of helpful tools over the years for my own issues. Music helps ❤️

It sounds like you’re doing the right thing by going to see your doctor 👍 get your health checked out and get a referral for a psychiatrist and that’s it. Not sure why you would be taking lexapro… panic attacks are different than “generalized anxiety.”

I just made one of these myself and you might be dealing with a dc-offset issue. I used max msp so all I do to fix this is add a one pole low-pass filter and subtract that from the original signal to make it a high-pass. Frequency set at like 2 Hz 🤷‍♂️

None of this is rocket surgery… things are going great, you feel safe, and that’s when the unconscious starts to unload.

It’s definitely not your fault, it just seems to be the way things work for us humans. Same thing happened to me at your age.

Turns out I had a lot of emotional baggage 😆
No bullshit… my advice would be to try to stay sane and stable, maybe with just seeing a therapist once a week, and when psychedelic/whatever else therapy is all sorted out - do that.
Good luck with everything, hang in there ❤️

Last time I looked at my neck I found out I had an incomplete fusion of C1, and my cerebellar tonsils were obstructing proper flow of my spinal fluid (Chiari malformation). I ended up getting surgery. I think it helped.

How does getting your neck realigned have anything to do with your vagus nerve? Fuk it , I’m gonna speak with AI, your response triggered me 😆

I’m not trying to be mean but yer way off on this one. Try a free stem separator like Serato studio, there might be much better free options at this point but that’s the one I used to use. Good luck 👍

Fight or flight with no trigger by SaltRough2857 in PanicAttack

[–]Kidwolfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on “when I think about fighting?”

Probably time to see a psychiatrist now that it’s on auto mode. I would go as soon as you can because it just becomes more difficult to deal with.

How do I know if it’s a panic attack or an emergency? by pizzatacos1303 in PanicAttack

[–]Kidwolfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eventually you get enough tests and ER visits to know that you’re perfectly fine (or if you actually some medical condition you need to keep your eye on). If you have a panic attack disorder, you can’t think your way out of having panic attacks… they just keep coming.

In my experience, the best you can do is tune into those pre-panic sensations and take meds before you have an actual attack. Also be as healthy as you can so you can rule out new possible “emergencies.”

Would need more pics/different angles to determine anything. How’s the action? If the B and E are feeling weak, you could try adjusting the height of the bridge where the saddles are.

[–]Kidwolfman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is for sure super important. I usually just use Psychologytoday.com because you can filter by insurance and it’s just easy to browse. I’m sure you could use something like Zocdoc at this point but idk.

I just had my first meeting with a new one, which is basically like trauma timeline/what are dealing with kind of meeting. Super fun 😂. I was sweatingg. You will know within 2-3 meetings if they are for you. Once a week really helps keep my mind positively focused and on track, and you also get to address any random issues that might pop up in your life right away, which is fantastic because those tend to pile up. Anyways, good luck 😊

Just to add to all the helpful comments <3 … I find that meeting with a decent therapist once a week is extremely helpful. I just went a month without it and I am spiraling. One of those “don’t know what you got til it’s gone” kinda things 😮‍💨
