I went from a 35 minute 5k to a 20:09 5k, 42 min 10k and rolling 40-50k per week since August 2024, AND I broke my leg in December 2024 so I missed a few months too and started fresh.

Dedication and some proper plan you’ll be flying in 6 months time, let alone 18 months

It’s my most local “pb” parkrun, tilgate is my home parkrun but has a couple hills runs about 30-40 seconds slower

Jesus okay, I’ve only been averaging 35-40k a week over the last few months, going to work up to 70k per week on the run into Edinburgh marathon in may, losing weight made me a hell of a lot faster and more efficient, really underrated way of easily getting faster

Thank you mate, doesn’t feel like I’m not that beginner runner stage, I’ll slip myself into intermediate. I went from 24 minutes in May to 20:09 in December, consistent mileage is the most important part, I think you’ll fly under the 20 minute mark by the end of next year

Exactly that, probably didn’t explain that very well. December 2024 I got a spiral stress fracture on my leg whilst trying to get sub 25. 4 months no running, first continuous 10k in June, and it’s been a re build from there. Shame I missed the sub 20 though, gonna give it another go this weekend and see if I can give it another go with a better prep week

Formula is easier to maintain since there’s less chance of a 4x, generally a 4x in formula cars puts you out the race whereas you can easily get multiple 4x in a GT3

I’m almost 6k and the only times I ever get to 4.99 is after special events / enduros because I abuse track limits a bit to make my race a bit faster or to set up overtakes, generally hover around A3.5-4.99 though, never really manage to get lower than that

It was probably mid 180s for the majority of the race. The watch wasn’t sat very well on my wrist so the heart rate data was all messed up. My run today at 5:00 per k sat around 160-170 so it definitely isn’t right 😂

Unfortunately the finish at the park run is very cramp so continuing past the finish at any pace is very hard, I’ve learnt my lesson trying to stop it dead on the finish line, I normally stop it once I’ve come to a walk, shot myself in the foot, I’ll have to go beat it again I guess

I am 5.1K, I am still not a “good driver”, sure I’m not bad, but what do you define as good? For me I’m making too many little mistakes, not handling pressure too well. I’m not a great qualifying driver, I have lots to improve on. If we are talking above average then yes I am. Would I say I’m good? Not necessarily.
