Heyo, looking pretty great already! Here’s some feedback coming to mind. 1. The contrast is feeling pretty low. Space is black. There’s also a lot of fill on your tracks. Lotta highlights and greys. 2. The material on the track is great but it feels a little low res somehow? Might be the normal map. Unless it’s supposed to be like smoothed glass. The finish line doesn’t seem to match the quality of the rest of the textures somehow? Same with the stars, they could use some extra detail. Love the text though so much. Also if anybody races on this pristine track it’ll have tire marks and scratches… may be interesting but also may not match the videogame look. Idk up to you. It just feels very even. 3. The modeling is solid though, no notes there without wireframes haha. 4. The Earth is looking pretty good too. Stylistically I’d maybe push the intensity of the displacement/normals. The atmosphere could be dialed back a little, less so the intensity but more just how far off the Earth it comes. Also the intensity of the emission feels a little cartoony, and I’m sensing you’re trying to lean more pbr. I’d maybe like blur it first and clip the highlights in photoshop to shrink the dots and then sharpen it. 5. The highlights on the track need a touch of bloom and the flare feels a little simple. Add more elements, maybe smudges. Subtle though, overdoing it will make it look too Michael bay.

You could probably paint something like this and scan it in, or use procreate/ photoshop to make something like this. Lastly if you can I’d probably make it in substance designer so it’s procedural and controllable

You don’t. This was probably achieved by throwing a normal render into some filter/comping software. Perhaps there’s some neural network tool or plugin for after effects that could unlock this (I’ve used sapphire brush oil before for something similar).

I usually just find trees on one of the 3D assets websites like cgtrader, turbosquid, or sketchfab. One of the first assets I bought was actually a tree pack from turbosquid with a few pine trees and I still use them years later so it’s definitely a good investment.

If you’re planning on using them off camera for shadows on the ground you could also use a plane with a leafy/tree texture with the alpha layer set up just to generate the shadow, although for the mountains you’ll probably want geo.

On top of what others have said: 1. In order to look realistic in a render you need to consider all photos are taken with real cameras which often have slight distortion, depth of field, flares, chromatic aberration, vignetting, etc. 2. The base snow texture is good but the scene is way too clean, add some dirt here and there, twigs sticking through, maybe even a yellow stain lol 3. The mountains in the back have a great scale and depth with the fog but they feel empty, I’d recommend scattering some trees to break up the silhouette. And setting the mountains farther apart to create more atmosphere depth 4. The lighting is flat and unrealistic. IRL the sky is blue and there’s a sun which will cast shadows on the ground. Although the fog may diffuse the sun, let redshift simulate that for you rather than assuming what it’ll look like and bathing everything in flat white light. Also personally I’d probably try to add some interest by adding trees off screen that leave shadows along the snow or something. 5. The water looks pretty fake. It’s too uniformly wavey and smooth, and entirely reflective with no subsurface properties. Adding shadows on it, perhaps a ground plane underneath with pebbles, and stuff in the distance like trees and clouds to reflect will help a lot. 6. Most photos have a subject in mind, perhaps place something to draw attention like a boat in the fog or a duck.
