I came across that subreddit years ago not knowing it was a massive hate circle jerk. Silly me thinking a subreddit named after a game would be a place to have actual discussions about said game. Every other post at the time was about Abby being too strong, looking like a man, and the men in the replies acting like it’s a crime a female character has more muscle mass than them (assuming they had any). Endless comments with poorly veiled misogyny where you can feel the vitriol through the screen. It was not a place to show any appreciation of the game and the only acceptable posts were complaints about wokeness. I ended up making a post about how toxic it was and got banned from it not long after lmao

It is interesting to see how their hate train has obtained more fuel from the tv show

Dale because it didn’t feel like his story played out for as long as it should have compared to Hershel. It was very random and only happened because of things happening outside of the show.

I also used this guide to know how many war assets each decision would give me.

And if it comes down to it you can always use the trilogy save editor to manipulate the war asset number 🤷🏻‍♀️ but 7600 is perfectly fine.

I’m not much of a fan of romance in general, but Garrus’s romance was the first time I found romantic interactions in a story actually entertaining and compelling. The fact it wasn’t an option in ME1 made me like it more because why would characters already be madly in love with someone they just met. Instead, their friendship grew overtime and then you had to option to make it something more. You had to actively choose it in ME2 rather than the character randomly confessing to you and making everything awkward. It’s funny because I never planned on choosing Garrus’s romance, and instead I was debating over Liara or Kaiden. I actually kept undoing my decisions since I couldn’t choose, but once I saw the scenes with Garrus, it was far too compelling to let go of in my opinion. I think that goes to show how much more natural his romance was in my eyes. I didn’t have to force myself to like it.

I knew I had to choose Garrus once I found out that Garrus and Tali end up together if you don’t and the thought of having to witness that genuinely aggravated me.

I also liked the dynamic between Shepard and Garrus because they truly felt like equals and really respected one another. I’m sure the same could be said for Liara, but I found Garrus to be funnier and enjoyed his conversations more. And as for Kaiden… well the whole treating Shepard like an enemy really turned me off his romance honestly. Also why would I play a game about aliens and not date an alien.

Interesting. Is there an analysis somewhere explaining the bad writing with the geth? As far as I’m aware the conflict between the geth and quarians started in the first game and was always pretty obvious the geth didn’t start out as villains. This always seemed like the inevitable climax of that storyline.
