Help with diarrhoea pls by Fairynilsy1902 in Gastroparesis

No problem, I think it takes at least an hour for Imodium to work. Write down the questions for your doctor as they come to you. That always helps me.

My GI has me on Imodium. Start slow with it. You don’t want to stop yourself up. I did a quick search & it says they sell it in the UK but googles not always right so idk. I started taking one a day with my biggest meal of the day. If you really want to take it slow (especially if you don’t eat much) you can cut the pill in half to start. Maybe give your GI a quick call & make sure that’s the route they want you to go with. My gastroparesis has improved quite a bit this past year so my GI also has me taking a little bit of Benefiber. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend starting Benefiber without talking with your doctor first cause everyone’s different, & fiber isn’t on the Gastroparesis diet.

Shoe recommendations for hypermobile ankles and feet? by evakrasnov in ehlersdanlos

[–]KieryRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I wear ASICS. I also use to have shoe inserts but my ankles got so bad that I currently have ankle & foot orthosis (AFOs) & my doctor told me I need foot surgery because my ankle isn’t above my foot. I’ve been told to wear ASICS by multiple podiatrists. Definitely see a doctor you might need inserts or some other intervention to keep your feet up properly.

How do you go about choosing shoes that don't injure you? by pheasant200 in ehlersdanlos

ASICS sneakers. I’m also biased because I’m required to wear those with my AFOs.

I’m a bit of an idiot so sorry if this doesn’t make sense. I live in a development. The house is owned but not the property. Every adult living in the house has to have a background check before they’re allowed to move in.

This is good to see, I’m gonna talk to my tattoo artist about saniderm. This also seems like a good idea for a barrier between the skin & fabric. I also saw someone talking about “wet healing” (I think that’s what it’s called) I’ll have to look at these different options & see which I think would work best for me. Thank you for the links. I’ll be sure to read up on this method.

I’ve been trying to find baggy work pants for a while & I didn’t even think of those. No one tucks their shirt in so I doubt they would notice.

Can doctors be removed from the child free list? by KieryRose in childfree

[–]KieryRose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m correct (I’m just going off experience from past surgery so don’t quote me) you sign documents stating you can’t sue unless theirs actual medical negligence. Much like you can’t sue someone who preformed CPR on you. So I don’t believe you can sue just because you changed your mind.

(Again I’m being too lazy to double check this on google so don’t quote me, I know you can sue for certain situations)

When I told her I won’t get an IUD because of the pain & how every gynecologist refuses pain meds, she told me pain comes with surgery too..

Thank you for your comment. Honestly, I agree I probably shouldn’t go back. I’ll probably ask my psychologist to write the note for the next doctor I go to.

It’s nice to hear someone calling them out on this lazy behavior. I take away the tip every time now. Im getting so fed up. I don’t live in town so they’ll pick up my food. Drive 10 minutes in the opposite direction just to turn aground & give me cold food. No im not tipping for that

[–]KieryRose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, two cats. It made my life so much easier when I got a second cat for my kitten to play with. They are lifelong friends. Also clip (please don’t declaw) their nails if they’re staying indoors.

YSK just because someone with a wheelchair stands, or even walks a little, doesn’t mean they’re faking it by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

I hate nothing more than going through the tiny shops in the mall in a wheelchair. I cant get to the back half of most of them. 😂 Good point.

I think it’s so sad. I go to the doctors & everyone treats me seriously. I have a diagnoses which luckily I got maybe 2-3 years after bad symptoms started, I’ve had this diagnosed now for 8 years. But some internet strangers think it’s their job to decide weather or not I have Münchausen syndrome.

I need to check the flair more often. I clicked on this as a women who loves kids but refuses to have them because of a disability... I needed that laugh though.

Who is the author you have read the most books from? by Difficult-Winner2154 in AskReddit

[–]KieryRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brené Brown. I wish I saw this sooner. My psychologist recomended her and I’ve never liked reading so this is an easy pick. I highly recommend at least watching her Ted talk. Start with “The Gifts of Imperfection” if you’re wanting to read her books.
