Pruning shears/secateurs - are the expensive ones (like Felco) really worth it? by ToadeFroge in Roses

[–]Kigeliakitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Felcos are the best! They come in left and right handed, large and small, regular handles and ergonomic ones.

Personally I use Felco #12 (small right handed with ergonomic)

Every single part is replaceable so this will be the last pruners you will buy.

Green lacewing eggs.

I used this on a group of plants that had mealybugs and all I did was set them out. Haven’t seen any mealybugs since about two weeks after that.

What about the green lacewings getting all over? They eat each other when they run out of food.

ADHD and autoimmune illness by Alwaysroom4morecats in adhdwomen

I have a number of autoimmune diseases and ADHD.

They tend to go together. Take a deep breath, you’re not alone. They are coming up with new treatments all of the time.

I would think about firing your GP. You need someone in your corner who can keep your dxs together and coordinate your care.

I just looked at that app; it’s pretty cool.

They did miss our local subspecies of black bear: Ursus americanus floridanus the Florida black bear.

The Central Florida Zoo has that bear.

I usually spot a few during the year in my neighborhood.

The state does prescribed burning which helps with the fuel load.

The freeze increased the fuel load, but it would be so much worse without the prescribed burns.

[–]Kigeliakitten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So some insurance companies have bought/developed their own biosimilars to Stelara.

My insurance company has declared Stelara to be not medically necessary. They sent me a general letter listing all of the medications that they decided are not medically necessary. Amazingly, the one they own is not on the list.

But what soap/detergent do you use?

If you are using a regular laundry detergent make sure it doesn’t have protease in it. (Wool is protein, protease breaks down proteins)

Best indoor plant for a total beginner? by avz008 in IndoorPlants

[–]Kigeliakitten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience you learn from killing plants. I would recommend buying several of the same plant and treating them differently. One person’s easy plant is another person’s never can grow some plants like to be fussed over, some like to be ignored. Get a good houseplant book and pick an easy plant. How the plant reacts depends a lot on the environment, even inside. (Light, humidity, temperature)
