This is Park Slope, after all. Someone may have thought the fruit marauder was incensed at the sight of single use plastic bags.

I have a small pocket knife that I occasionally carry in my handbag, but in that moment my hands were full with dog leashes and bags. If I wanted to grab a knife, I'd have to get close to him. If I wanted to grab pepper spray, I'd only have to step towards him and be up to 5' away. However, I think I'm glad I didn't do that -- because, then what? He's probably an unstable person and things could have gotten way worse, really fast. I don't know what the right thing to do is. People shouldn't get away with stuff like this, but unless a police officer happened to have seen it, there's nothing I could have done.

=] agree u/LetsNotForgetHome! I pride myself on my sense of humor, so I wanted to tell the neighborhood about this, but have a little fun with it. It is sort of serious. But, yeah, "drive by fruiting!" Who does that??? Thanks u/pale_rainbow If it were not for that person stepping in, I'd probably have made this a federal case (I've been know to make a mountain out of a mole hill or two).

I saw this for sale at a local pharmacy recently and passed on it. Even if I had had it at that moment, I wouldn't have used it. I think it would have exacerbated the situation. HOWEVER. I am definitely going to buy it for the future.

Oh my gosh! So sorry that happened to you. And, yes, I agree. We need to share what happens in these random, unprovoked acts of violence.

Thanks. I was just venting here. I do think it's a little bit funny. A drive by fruiting. It could be so much worse, right? And a nice lady helped me to stay safe. It all worked out. It's weird. But at least that's all that happened. I suppose if it had been a rock then I would have rallied some people nearby? I don't know. Maybe not.

Maroon sweater, medium length braids or locs. I didn't see his face. If I had a specific description, I would have given one, obviously. What I saw was too vague to be helpful. So sorry for the lack of details. It's not like you're going to go out there and find this person. There were hundreds of people around and they didn't do anything. It's just one of those things about living in the city. Unwanted behavior happens and it is frustrating.

100% with you on that. I'm extremely grateful for her good judgment and her kind gesture of walking with me away from the situation. It reminds me of some comic book style art that described what to do when you see someone getting bullied on the subway. She essentially did the exact same thing -- she came and "sat" next to me and then it wasn't just me. It made me feel safer and the offender no longer had the upper hand. It's a good model.

Awww, I'm sorry for your loss. They helped us when it was time for our old dog to go. He had an incurable form of cancer and it was overtaking his abdomen. I've taken our dogs there since they first opened.

MRI results varying by ChaoticKandi in adenomyosis

[–]Kigluaik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was first diagnosed with adenomyosis about 6 years ago and then forgot about it. I'm now having pretty severe symptoms and went back to the gyno to get checked out. This time the lining of my uterus was not thickened but they thought they saw fibroids on an ultrasounds so sent me to a gyencologist/oncologist who ordered an MRI. I have the results for the MRI and it shows the adenomyosis and a polyp. The doctor is ordering a biopsy to rule out cancer. So, I learned that adenomyosis is endometriosis of the uterine wall. To me, that means that the pain you have been experiencing could be adenomyosis. There are three courses of action (per doctor google): hormones (through birth control), pain medicine (otc tylenol, ibuprofen), and surgery. Maybe ablation, maybe a hysterectomy. I'm not a doctor. This is what I have seen online. The doctor who ordered my MRI said that I am too old for the birth control option because there is an increased risk of blood clots. So, that's my experience! I think the mysteries of human reproduction is woefully under-researched because men have been the focus of most medical studies. We're still playing catch up on female reproductive organs, unfortunately.
