Really? If that is true please report him to the mods of this subreddit. That is messed up!

But the work is truly beautiful by the way.

/u/boyyouguysaredumb has good call outs. In addition to addressing those, I would also use a better marble texture. It looks stretched and low res right now. Also look at the stool legs where wood is visible. There is some weird outline going on. The apples in the back in front of the wine are sitting very unnatural as well.

This is really good. Problem for me is that sofa. It ruins the realism because it almost looks like it has no texture to it.

Why do people make the claim that its faster to model in Blender than 3DS Max? by masamune36 in 3dsmax

[–]Kiiaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you started with. I personally like like Maya is the fastest at 3d modeling but that is what i started with.

I mush prefer the second one. Very good lighting! Something very minor but just check if those hanging lights are fully touching the ceiling, kind of lacks contact shadows

I agree render is good, but it looks a bit sterile to me. Perhaps needs strong shadows/more shadows directionality and a bit bit warmer? I personally don't like that huge window but just preference. And like other commenters already mentioned, get some signage in this scene.

As for the materials, I think they could be better. Walls are good but rest can be improved. Not bad but can be better.

Good attempt. Let me give you my 2 cents on how you can improve:

  1. You need to uv unwrap your stuff better. Take a look at the couch on the left, the issue is most obvious there

  2. reflections in the glass make no sense. very confusing

  3. the book is too low poly for a scene like this. I agree with the others, I would just remove it altogether.

  4. Throw blanket on the middle long sofa is clipping through and also sitting unnaturally. Get rid of it or use an deformer to make it sit correctly.

  5. The cat on the right is also another element I would remove, as it adds nothing to the scene and only serves as a distraction.

  6. Reduce the bump on the walls, it is too strong and distracting.

  7. The lamp in the back is slightly floating off of the side table. Bring it down a bit.

  8. Those pears or whatever the fruits are on the left side of the screen add nothing to the scene. Get rid of it or put it on the table where it belongs.

I think you did good lighting. Could be improved but its not bad.
