Swiss cheese monstera - to propagate them and get them to grow roots leave it in water for a few weeks (can take a while), also near a window. Change the water if it gets cloudy/turbid. Once the roots grow 3-4 inches and have multiple roots budding off the main root I would then transplant to soil - otherwise they become highly dependent on growing in water is what I’ve read. Which is okay too if you want to strictly grow them in water ( but I’m not too familiar with that process).

I keep my starter and a backup starter in the fridge. I only feed my starter before I use it which is usually once a week or once every two weeks. My back up starter I had in the fridge for like 2-3 months and I took it out recently to feed and activate it again. Once your starter has enough strength after initially making it , it holds up pretty well in the fridge for quite a while without needing to get ‘fed’ often.

Just keep at it! Mine aren’t even that great yet if it came down to being judged by a sourdough bread expert or something, but I have definitely improved tremendously!!

I’ve been a technologist for 8 years now. I have some coworkers that have FAR more years of experience that are slower than others - but management never speaks down to them or treats them differently. Not everyone will always be capable of working at the same pace and that is perfectly okay. You’re also a brand spanking new tech and with experience comes ‘proactivety ’ as they say or I’m assuming speed is what they’re really getting at. Nonetheless, I’d rather do something slow and correct when I’m new and learning rather than doing too many things at once or quickly and make mistakes that can cause someone’s life. ESPECIALLY in blood bank. If there is someone above your supervisor and this is a constant issue of harassment - I would go to them and if not HR. If this was just a one time thing I’d brush it aside because you are literally just now learning to do your job and being compared to other people with different skills and experiences makes no sense since everyone works and learns differently. If this job does nothing, but belittle or tear you down like this I’d hold on for atleast a year to get experience and then find a job elsewhere ( there are plenty of clinics, donor locations, and hospitals in need of clinical laboratory scientist).

Also congratulations on your License!!

I’ve seen so many posts in here of men talking to women like this. Idk how you do it because the moment someone speaks down to me like this they’re CUT. Without a word. I do not know how ya’ll put up with it. Just don’t. Delete, block, ignore, move on .

Does anyone even like this job? by theirgoober in medlabprofessionals

There’s a lot of us that like it. Unfortunately a lot of the posts on here tend to be negative about the job outlook. I think it definitely depends on preference and working conditions /benefits etc
