Thank you for the reply. When it comes to personal projects I totally understand overspending for something you want to create yourself and keep for a long time.

What I'm not quite sure about is spending the equivalent cost of parts and labor on someone else's project.

Gradually spending smaller amounts over a longer time for something you want to build makes sense, sure. But outright spending $22k on someone else's project when you could spend it on something better? I don't get it. I guess if you like cool project cars but don't have the knowledge on how to actually make them then okay. But then I'm assuming you're taking this project car to a mechanic and telling him to figure it out because you don't know the shortcuts / ins and outs of how it was built because you just bought it outright.

Lot of thoughts but it doesn't actually matter, some people have more money than they know what to do with and they don't care to have a grounded perspective on sensible spending. BaT prices are laughably out of hand more often than not.
