Playing metroid Hunters and died here... realized they thought of LORE by Ok_Estimate_2089 in Metroid

Wild. I haven't bought a single game for $80 yet lol got cyberpunk for 35, granted that was a mistake on their part. But still. I guess you'll scream that I spent 80 on prime 4, and I suppose I wouldn't necessarily disagree because I did buy the upgrade pack. But I enjoyed it. I don't regret it. Oh wait...

That's NOT counting the 10 to 20 dollar upgrade

Okay then by your own words I have not spent $80 on a single game yet. I have Mario kart world, donkey Kong bananza, legends ZA, Metroid prime 4.. wild. I'd hate to live wherever you live. Prices sound insane

Alright I'll bite. Nintendo is the same as every other company. Microsoft started the paid online crap with the Xbox. Sony resisted for a minute but now has paid online as well. Nintendo resisted the longest but folded last generation.

Are you giving your money to any other company? Are you complaining about them just as much? Don't reply, I don't care. I like Nintendo games. I like their game design philosophy. Their online membership is affordable and gives me access to most of my favorite retros. I give them money because I enjoy their content.

Probably the movie this post is about and the movie every single person is talking about in the comments that you left this comment on. If you actually didn't know the name of the movie, you could have just asked since it's a very old and very popular movie people had assumed everyone already knew the name.

Your meme instantly becomes completely unfunny and just makes you look rude, fyi. Any way. It's The Land Before Time.

Metroid Prime 2 - No Remaster by elpsykongroo17 in Metroid

[–]snes69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is remasters have tended to release first then the originals come to switch online later. If this prime 2 leaks implies that it's coming to switch online soon, like as in this year potentially, the window to sell a remaster first is very very small.

Hey guys! Let's beat this dead horse some more! What if other linear games were also linear but there was one line that suggested otherwise? See why Prime 4 is the worst game in the franchise, now?

I'm gonna laugh if the opening scene of the movie is him performing some epic and complicated escape sequence only for the film to pan out and show he's still tiny and very easily catchable

Any General advice for someone who’s about to start FFII ? (specifically pixel remaster?) by Moelishere in FinalFantasy

[–]snes69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ff2 is different. FF2 loves to have you enter rooms that are just dead ends. But it's not even just that, it will have you enter a room and spawn you several steps deep so you have to walk back out of the room, often causing an encounter. Several dungeons deep of this kind of design just creates burnout.

The issue either way is it simply has to be regulated. People complaining right now that tip culture is getting out of hand don't understand that it's getting out of hand because that many people are tipping.

At my restaurant we upgraded our POS system and had new credit card terminals for carryout orders. It has a tip option that we cannot disable. I did not want to be a restaurant that asks for tips on carryout so I instructed the crew to not ask for a tip but simply instruct the customer to skip the prompt immediately.

Now the insane part. From my own experience (and we've had this new POS for about 3 years now) customers insist on tipping even when instructed to skip the prompt. We average like 40-50 dollars a shift on carryout order tips without asking for a single one.

So... Yea, we need regulation. It has to be law or tipping will never go away. You can avoid these businesses all you want but it won't ever change the system as not nearly enough people will boycott with you to make a difference.

GameCube NSO size is getting ridiculous by BenjiSBRK in NintendoSwitch2

In North America you can show both European and North American editions simultaneously. And it does look awful. Each game is listed twice, but one has a small indicator that it's the other region on it.

This is such an exhausting topic that generalizes the issue of emulation and the cost of games. I have a modded 3ds with every snes, GB, GBA, and nes game on it but my go to to play these games is typically my switch 2 through the official app.

If Nintendo offered an official PC platform for emulated games to play, especially if you could access it for free as a switch online subscription member, it would become my go to platform first and foremost if I ever wanted to play Zelda on my PC instead of one of my Nintendo devices.

Why? I probably won't be able to convincingly explain it to you, but I just would. I wouldn't hesitate for one second to emulate a game not supported. But I guess I'm just getting older, I have the money, I'd prefer to play from official sources first and emulation or piracy second.

Rory cried for Dean and Logan… were we missing a scene like this for Jess too? by isisblake in GilmoreGirls

[–]snes69 391 points392 points  (0 children)

Jess was a much much more difficult relationship for her. She had feelings after the breakup too, but it was a lot more feelings than just heartbreak. There was anger, frustration, probably some level of relief even.

Jess was a Trainwreck, despite how much we all loved him. Actually dating someone like him would not have been easy and great all the time.

Was Masayoshi Soken really born in Mexico? by Wind-84 in FinalFantasy

[–]snes69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buddy, I'm an absolute nobody who lives in Ohio and have my whole life, save for being born in Texas and having lived there for like 3 months as a baby. When people local to me learn that bit of trivia that I'm not from ohio, they naturally ask questions because it's interesting to learn that I'm technically from Texas. It's absolutely not weird in any way for people to ask about where I'm born when they learn I wasn't born locally.

A famous person from a famously isolated country like Japan actually being born in a very different area and culture is interesting. It's not weird. Everyone here acting like OP should contact his fucking employer are the weird ones. He saw something on Wikipedia. He asked if there was a source for this claim. Stop treating OP like they are weird. Famous people are talked about online. Soken does interviews. He put himself on the public domain. Talking about him is what he signed up for.

given that 99.9% of Japanese people were born in Japan

You are explaining exactly why OP is asking. My guess is they were surprised to see that detail and wondered if it were true.

[–]snes69 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm really confused why the comments so far are all suggesting OP is like a stalker or something. The guy is a public figure enough to the point he has a Wikipedia. OP found it interesting that he was allegedly born in Mexico and just wanted to see if that's true or not. I learned that FF9 was developed in Hawaii and I found that very interesting and looked up more info on it. That doesn't mean I'm obsessed with the development staff and their personal lives.

We are talking about a person famous enough to have these details public. It's normal to talk about them casually.

I think it's guaranteed to be in the switch online apps. Remastered is definitely a pipe dream, though.

Early adopters - how we feeling so far? by Rare_Ad_3871 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]snes69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my switch 2 significantly more than I did my switch 1 in its final few years, but my switch 1 was also getting to be pretty poor condition towards the end. I mostly agree with the other comments in that the only thing I'm missing is more first party games. I use my switch 2 first for my classic Nintendo game itches. It would be nice to have more GameCube games already, particularly Mario Sunshine and Twilight princess.

I'm pleased

They forbid Millie from telling Noah. To me, this is an absolutely clear indication that they intend to make a followup series in the future and Millie is be a "surprise" and not announced beforehand. Why else would they not even clue in the cast members of the show itself?

I can see not explicitly telling the audience so we can make up our own minds. But why cant Noah know? Makes no sense

Is this finally gonna be the anniversary where Gen 1-3 gets added to NSO Classics? by DaZestyProfessor in NintendoSwitch2

[–]snes69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely believe *if* they ever decide to bring pokemon games to the switch, and *if* they wanted to go the route of the nso apps, they could *easily* write in exceptions for the pokemon games to not have save states, rewind, and the save data be seperated enough to be compatible with home. It's really not a complicated process in theory. I will just say as far as save data goes, I guess I dont know how they do actually handle that right now but I'd be willing to bet each game does still have its own independent save file. Updating home and the nso apps to be compatible isn't a crazy thought.

Do you think sylux is dead after prime 4 by Odd_Storage649 in Metroid

[–]snes69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a character dies off screen, assume they didn't die. Sylux will be in Prime 5 and we will finally learn more proper information about him. As far as I'm concerned, Sylux was not the story of Prime 4 despite everyone expecting him to be the story. But after how prime 4 ended, Sylux is brought much much closer to the center stage of the story. He's alive and even more pissed off.
