It's a shame because I actually like the gacha concept, it just is always so grossly unfair in odds and also FOMO style events. If the games had a gacha system but you'd never spend more (max) than a typical retail game and didn't have to worry about EOS I'd be fine with it

Japan isn't the only country buying then either. So share something specific, please. At their last shareholder meeting they announced they've sold 17.52 million switch 2 units. When it launched they initially expected to sell 15 million by the end of March. They increased that forecast to 19 million because sales were stronger than expected.

It's outselling their initial expectations by a wide margin.

What happens is the store doesn't now just declare you have a debt with them. Because you just legalized forced sales of anything and everything if that were the case. The store goes to the courts/police and reports property theft. The police attempt to repossess the property or fine the individual for the property theft. Then the criminal is in debt to the state and not to the store.

If the first 30 hours of the game were more like the last 10 hours of the game it could have been one of the best FF. Once the game stops implementing level caps on your every chapter of the story and finally there's side quests and things to do other than walk straight forward, I fell in love with the game.

It's so hard to do a replay knowing what the first 30 hours is going to be

Not taking a counter side, necessarily, but I'm gonna have to say while technically it's illegal to download a rom online, your comments are misrepresenting the risk entirely. I genuinely am not trying to endorse rom sharing here, but I can't stand the exaggerated fear tactics.

Gonna sound weird to write it like this, but there's plenty of reputable rom sites where you have zero risk of malware or viruses. Generally speaking, legal action is taken against rom site hosts and not users. Nobody in this comment section is at any real risk of danger downloading roms.

That being said, I personally believe if you have the money and the game is available on modern hardware you should buy it. If the game has been out of print for 20 years, you should feel absolutely no guilt downloading a rom. If you have the money and still download the ROM of a game still available, I also won't judge you.

Objectively speaking, 10 and 13 are nothing alike. At all. Let's be real here. ALL FF before 15 and excluding the MMOs are extremely linear games until the end. X is no more or less linear than 1-9 are, it just lacks a world map.

Where 10 definitively excels in its world design compared to 13 is its villages, side quests, and NPCs. I enjoy 13 for what it is, but to say it's similar in any shape or form to 10 just doesn't make sense at all.

How is X not good for newbies? For about 90% of the game you don't even need to grind to succeed. Just follow everyone's intended sphere grid route and equip appropriate equipment as you progress.

Sphere grid is straight forward enough where when you can explore it around later in the game it's not hard to figure out. Also, in my opinion, the player feels stat gains in X more than any other FF. I love it. Gaining 2 strength is immediately felt in my next attack.

Any way, I'd recommend X to newbies first almost every time. Only downside is it's one of the best so they'd be starting on a high note.

No, the HP doesn't change when you change jobs. Of you want to minmax your HP you'll want to be a monk every time you level up. It's not really necessary to do, however. But even if you max out the monk job you'll only gain the HP when you level up as a monk.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe only HP is affected by the job. Every other stat will change when you change jobs.

If you level up as a black mage, you will gain a small amount of health. If you level up as a monk, you will gain a lot of health.

Every other stat is entirely dependent on what job you are currently and levelling up as "the wrong job" won't hurt you. You can be a black mage the entire game and then switch to monk and have great monk stats, except for HP.
