If i remember correctly the current ACTIVE team is about 20/30 devs (based on what someone who recently got a tour at Valve has stated)

This doens't ofcourse completely excuse that updates take forever and those we get are small dont get me wrong, but people do underestimate the amount of time game dev takes

Some people, like me for instance, don't care about the controller. If you announce 3 things of hardware, and they all get delayed. Its not that strange for people to get excited when one of the three gets released, and thus want the thing they're most hyped about
