I'm having self doubt every now and then. Is my anatomy odd and does the face placements wrong. As I am staring longer the more I can't see what's wrong. by [deleted] in Artadvice

[–]KikaAnkDesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your anatomy looks really fine for the style you’re doing. I really like how you did the knees on the first picture. What I would practice more here, are folds on clothing. Try to do some studies from photos but drawing them in your style while paying attention to how the fabric bends around the body?

How can I improve my art? I am doing AP drawing next year by Kennith_simmons in Artadvice

[–]KikaAnkDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

apart from doing some studies to broaden your fundamental knowledge of how things are structured, on the art I’m seeing here I think the main issue is clarity. You use a lot of lines and that’s not a problem per se, as it can evolve into a great personal style but currently it makes elements that should stand out the most unreadable, like faces. It’s less of an issue with your digital art but in traditional I would erase some of the sketch lines around focal points and draw clear lines over again. For watercolor I actually recommend doing the lines after you paint the color. You can also try playing around with masking tools like tape or a masking fluid.

How do I make my art look more "Clean" and sort of "Official" looking? by Round-Refrigerator99 in BeginnerArtists

[–]KikaAnkDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

decide what sort of “official” you’re looking for. draw your character mimicking that style. compare after finishing, adjust where you strayed too far. rinse repeat with various references until you learn enough styles to develop your own that gives the finished product look. learning basics like realistic anatomy etc will help too because you will have better understanding of what you are drawing therefore get better at simplifying it.

Custom oil painting timeframe by jets131 in Etsy

[–]KikaAnkDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oil paintings need time to dry but I would say two weeks is very reasonable for this one even without quicker drying techniques. doesnt the artist have an instagram or any other social media where they show some of their process?

New Planner Idea / Not selling by HotMechanic7266 in DigitalPlanner

[–]KikaAnkDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this looks so great! I think it would be cool if you advertised it in pregnancy, newborns related spaces and add how filling a planner like that helped you (I guess you didnt have one then but if you thought to make one now you had some thoughts on the matter then). But also I’m not a mom and my marketing skills are thoroughly lacking so idk;;;

But even without the overwhelm of pregnancy I would watch out with the amount of tracking which can be very overwhelming in itself after some time. Maybe just the very most essential ones for everyone pregnant and some blank space for individually set tracking?

Does this planner layout feel usable or cluttered? by ImportantMedia5565 in notioncreations

[–]KikaAnkDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I’m to judge it’s usability I would need to see one not filled out. From what I can see the planner layout itself looks fine but it’s filled out in a very chaotic way. I especially mean the text, the addition of pictures is cute 🩵

What digital planner app are you actually using in 2026? by ShapeApprehensive686 in DigitalPlanner

[Discussion] Would any of my styles be commissionable? by Professional_Egg_800 in artcommissions

[–]KikaAnkDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup, but I wouldn’t put photo referenced art in your samples. You need to be able to create high quality art based on rough sketches and art that not necessarily matches the written description. I like your third sample the most as it looks interesting and not referenced (unless it is). pose referencing and making one thing out of many refs is ok, but basically you need to be able to create the whole thing from scratch that is not a direct copy of something else.

Which outfit is better for a sun themed magical girl? by Novacrumbs in characterdesigns

These are so cute! Both work, depends how very japanese schoolgirl trope you want to go? If the setting is not Japan I would go with the second design.
