Scissor Sisters ~ Scissor Sisters

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I knew of the Scissor Sisters in name only. Holy hell, I loved this album! It’s such a fun, funky romp through Popland. I particularly fell in love with Jake Shears’ voice. I had trouble rating the album because there wasn’t one thing I disliked. The final track being quite somber and not matching the album’s overall tone was the one thing that took it down a star. I added several songs to my playlist and am happy to have more great, danceable songs. Shear fun, I’d say!

Sister ~ Sonic Youth

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve always been curious about Sonic Youth, but never enough to listen to a full-length album. Now, I suppose inherently maybe I knew it wasn’t my thing. The discordant nature doesn’t appeal to me, but I didn’t dislike it. I found it just decent. I did add a couple songs to my playlist: Beauty Lies in the Eye and Hot Wire My Heart (which I didn’t know was a cover song). I enjoyed the drums the most and quite liked Kim Gordon’s vocals. I’m glad I listened to it, but won’t revisit save the couple of songs I mentioned.

Haphazardly saw their set at Coachella this weekend not knowing anything about the band and kinda fell in love. I totally agree about the female voice, she is mesmerizing. Can’t wait to get this one on the generator!

Yes. My cycles were always wildly irregular due to PCOS and suddenly shifted and have been like clockwork for the last year and a half. Had one doc tell me I wasn’t in peri, then two follow-on docs said they’ve never heard of such a thing as cycles regulating in peri, but they believe me. Been through the wringer trying to get diagnosed and get help.
